Maintaining the Escape Hood
Reassembling the Escape Hood:
1. Check to be sure there is an O-ring in the regulator
inlet. Thread the pressure regulator on to the cylinder
valve and tighten with a suitable wrench.
2. Place a full air cylinder in the carrier and tie the open-
ing closed around the cylinder neck.
3. Check to be sure there is an O-ring on the hood hose
nipple.
4. Thread the hose nut on the hood inlet and hand-
tighten only.
5. Install the hood hose and hood in the pocket. Close
the hook-and-loop strip.
6. Place the apparatus in its storage location, ready for
use.

Component Inspection (At Least Monthly)
1. Check the cylinder. It must be full (gauge reads 2216
or 3000 psi).
2. Remove the hood and hose. Check for holes, cuts, or
other damage.
3. Crack the cylinder valve for a few seconds to make
sure air flows to the hood. Close the valve tightly.
4. Fold the hood and place it and the hose into the
pocket. Close the hook-and-loop strip on the pocket.
