If you are not using a blind
mask and block the opening of the mask with the palm of your hand (however, be
careful not to block the mask exhalation vent).
10.Read the pressure on the manometer. Use the Up and Down keys to change the
pressure until the manometer reads 12 ± 0.2 cm H
Note: You will notice that the pressure gain is increasing when the Up keys is pressed
and decreasing when the Down key is pressed.
11.Press the Left key (Change) to apply this pressure. The airflow will stop.
WARNING
!
During calibration, you may not be able to calibrate the S8 for all patients under
extreme conditions (eg, high set pressures and high altitude settings). This is
because the delivered pressure will reach a peak and will not increase any further,
even though the pressure gain may be increasing. In this case, we advise that you do
not increase the pressure gain once the pressure has peaked; otherwise the
pressure may be too high if the altitude setting is changed.
