Flashing constantly
Replacing the battery in the remote control
Blue battery LED (2M) flashes if the voltage of the 9 V battery in the remote control is too low.
Replace 9 V battery; proceed as follows:
1. Open the rear flap on the remote control (4A).
2. Remove the old, flat battery and dispose of according to the local regulations.
3. Insert a new leakproof PP3 (9 Volt) battery (5).
WARNING!
Damage caused by leaking batteries is not covered by the warranty!
If you have not used the remote control for a long time, check the batteries and replace
them, if necessary.
ADVICE
Take the battery out of the remote control when it is not in use for a prolonged period!
4. Close the rear flap on the remote control (4A) again.
Synchronisation of the remote control with a new control unit
The remote control and control unit are already synchronised at the factory. If the remote
control or the control unit is replaced, or if the remote control is also to be used for your
AL-KO "RANGER" Manoeuvring System, they have to be synchronised with one another again.
For synchronisation:
1. Turn off battery disconnection switch (1).
2. Push slider switch (2G) on the remote control to "OFF" (0).
3. Check the correct installation of the electrical components against the installation instructions.
4. Check the charge state of the caravan battery and the battery in the remote control.
5. Turn on battery disconnection switch (1).
6. Press synchronisation button (6A) on the remote control for 3 seconds, then release again.
Green LED (6B) starts to flash (2x per second).
7. Push slider switch (2G) on the remote control to "ON" (I).
Green LED (2I) on the remote control and the LEDs of UP and DOWN buttons (2A and 2S)
have a steady light.
8. Press UP and DOWN buttons (2A and 2S) on the remote control simultaneously for 3 seconds.
An acoustic signal from the remote control confirms the successful synchronisation.
After successful synchronisation, green LED (6B) on the control unit and green LED (2I) on the
remote control have a steady light.
ADVICE
If no other button is pressed after pressing synchronisation button (6A), the synchronisation
process is terminated automatically after 15 seconds.
Operation - electronic control unit
The electronic control unit (6) installed inside your caravan is responsible for controlling the AL-KO UP4
support system.
