The latch will remain inside the dog door until the key is moved away
where it will return to the locked position. (Please note that the Infra-red
collar key is required only to enter the dog door.)
Only when the dog is comfortable going in and out of the dog door whilst
the fl ap has been propped open, (in line with the general training tips in
the previous section) should you fi t the collar key onto your dog's collar.
When fi xing the collar to your dog, ensure that the clear base of the key
(through which you should see the green PCB) is pointing forwards and
away from the dog. This is to ensure that the Infra-red beam can reach the
sensor on the dog door.
Due to the generous range of the Infra-red collar key, most dogs will have
no problem learning how the dog door is activated and how to gain entry.
There are some dogs however, who can take a little longer to become
more confi dent and familiar with the Infra-red functions. Use a favourite
treat to coax your dog towards and through the dog door and reward them
when they get it right.
If your dog has only just become familiar with
the using a dog door, it may take some

patience to teach your dog how it the
Infra-red function works. When your
dog makes progress, give them
a lot of praise. Keep repeating
the exercise until your dog can
come through the dog door
comfortably.
Cleaning your dog door
Your dog door is constructed of the highest quality thermoplastic with a
toughened acrylic fl ap and has been designed to last for many years. To
maintain its appearance, occasional wiping down with a damp cloth is all
that is necessary.
Cleaning the Infra-red lens
For best performance wipe the lens clean every
4 weeks with a soft cloth. (Fig.26).

3 year warranty

Your Staywell product is provided with a three year warranty. Warranty
covers the replacement of parts, or at the Company's discretion the
replacement of a complete product. Warranty only covers manufacturing
defects and does not cover consumer misuse or damage.
In the event that a warranty claim is necessary, please contact Staywell
Customer Care. Please only return goods for inspection on the
authorisation of a Customer Care Representative who will advise you of
the procedures.
