Establishing a Bluetooth

The connection between the hands-free device and the mobile telephone is established using a free-of-
®
charge Bluetooth
radio connection. The mobile telephone has to be manually linked to the hands-free
device in order to establish the Bluetooth
saved in the hands-free device's telephone list after it has been linked to the system.
A search through the saved mobile telephones will be run after the ignition or the hands-free device has
been switched on. The last mobile telephone that it was connected to will always be the first one to be
searched for and then it will search through the other mobile telephones saved in the list. The Bluetooth
connection will be established automatically with the first mobile telephone detected (see also
Automatic connection  9.1).
Carry out the coupling as described in the following. Read and abide by the operating instructions
provided by the mobile telephone manufacturer when entering the settings in the mobile telephone.
Turn the ignition and the mobile telephone on.
®
Activate the Bluetooth
in the surroundings. The mobile telephone displays a list of the devices found.
Select the "Touch Phone-Kit" mobile phone.
®
Confirm the Bluetooth
A password request appears on the mobile telephone.
Enter "0000" as the password. If an incorrect password has been entered, the coupling process is
cancelled and you have to select the "Touch Phone-Kit" device once again from the list of devices
found.
A question asking you if this Bluetooth
entering the password again may be displayed, but this depends on the mobile telephone that you
are using. Confirm this request by pressing "Yes" to enable the Bluetooth
established automatically when the ignition is turned on.
The mobile telephone is now connected (linked) to the hand-free system via Bluetooth
the linked mobile telephone and the mobile telephone network are displayed and the data is transferred
from the telephone book (SIM card) and the address book (telephone memory) to the hands-free device.
This may take a few seconds depending on the size of the data saved. All entries might not be
transferred if the telephone book synchronisation process is interrupted, e.g. by an incoming call. In this
case, the telephone book can be resynchronised manually  More > Settings > Device > Telephone
book options > Load telephone book.
Note
Up to 10 different devices can be saved in the telephone list.
®
Several Bluetooth
devices or adapters can be set up so that they are connected to the mobile phone
preparation function automatically. To prevent this, we recommend that any unwanted Bluetooth
devices and the adapter are switched off during the coupling.
Specific settings may have to be entered in the mobile telephone so that it then connects
automatically with the hands-free device.
The hands-free device will synchronise your mobile telephone's telephone book in the background at
regular intervals. The voice control will not be available during the synchronisation process and the
relevant message will be displayed.
Your saved telephone book data are only visible when your mobile telephone is linked up. Other
Touch Phone-Kit users will not be able to see the data.
Restrictions regarding the use of Bluetooth
regarding this can be obtained from your local authorities.
