• taken to provide adequate ventilation.
• Do not weld metal or painted metal contai-
ning zinc, lead, cadmium or beryllium unless
the operator, or anyone else subjected to the
fumes, is wearing respiratory equipment or
an air-supplied helmet.
• When welding must be performed outside
the normal conditions of working with an in-
creased risk of electric shock (restricted or
wet working space) should be taken extra
precautions, such as:
- Use power generators marked with the
letter "S";
- keep the power source outside the wel-
ding area;
- increase personal protection, isolation
from the ground and from the welding piece.
(Fig.7)
• The unit is designed for indoor use only,
do not weld with the unit exposed to rain or
snow.
• Falling equipment can injure, do not move
or operate unit where it could tip.
• Keep the unit (cables and cords) away
from moving vehicles when working from an
aerial locations.
• The operator and its assistants should ne-
ver touch, with any part of his body, high tem-
perature or electrically hot metal parts. (Fig.
8)
• The implementation of the welding and
cutting arc implies the close compliance with
the conditions of safety with regard to electric
currents. Make sure that no metal piece ac-
cessible to workers may come into direct or
indirect contact with a neutral or phase con-
ductor of the mains.
• The operator should never wind the wel-
ding cables around his body;
• The welding gun should never be pointed
at the operator or at another person.
• Do not use damaged welding or input ca-
bles (Fig. 9);
• Make sure that there are no other power
supply cables, control lines, telephone leads
or other equipment near the unit.
• Check for EMC Conformity of all other elec-
tric equipments close to the welding area.
CAUTION: Make sure that there is no-
one with a pacemaker or hearing aid in the
area around the unit.
• Check at least every 6 months the good
condition of isolation and connection of elec-
trical appliances and additional accessories,

contact your supplier for the maintenance
and repair of purchased products.
CAUTION: never touch the electrode
and the piece being welded at the same
time.
2.4 POWER REQUIREMENTS
• Servicing operations on electrical and elec-
tronic equipment should be performed by
qualified technicians.
• Before plugging the unit into the mains,
make sure that:
- the contactor, the protection device

against over-intensity and short circuits, so-
ckets, plugs and electrical equipment on site
are compatible with its maximum power and
its supply voltage (see technical data on page
3) and complying with local rules and regula-
tions.
- the outlet feeding the welding unit is ade-
quately protected with a breaker switch with
differential function with a tripping current not
exceeding 30mA.
