7.2. Renewing the engine oil

Follow the environment protection instructions (see § Protecting the environment) and drain the oil into a suitable container.
With the engine still hot, place a suitable container under the oil drain screw (fig. A - No. 4), then remove the oil filler cap
(fig. A - No. 3) and the oil drain screw.
After complete draining, screw the oil drain screw back on.
Top up with recommended oil (see § Specifications) then check the level (see § Checking the oil level).
Replace and screw down the oil filler cap.
After filling, check that there are no oil leaks, wipe away any traces of oil with a clean cloth.
7.3. Cleaning the oil cooler
Allow the generating set to cool down for at least 30 minutes prior to cleaning the oil cooler.
Important
Remove the oil cooler cover fastening screws (fig. B - no. 5) and remove the oil cooler cover (fig. B - no. 6).
Remove the oil cooler fastening screws (fig. B - no. 7) and remove the oil cooler.
Clean both sides of the oil cooler (fig. B - no. 8) with a brush.
Reassemble by reversing the removal procedure.
Wipe off any oil residue with a clean cloth and check for any leakage.

7.4. Replacing the oil filter

With the engine warm, drain the engine oil (see § Renewing the engine oil).
Remove the oil filter (fig. B - no. 4) with a filter wrench (or a chain pipe wrench) and dispose of it.
Clean the filter holder and lubricate the seal of the new filter with clean engine oil.
Install the new oil filter.
Manually tighten the oil filter as far as it will go, then give a 1¾ turn with a torque wrench (or to 21.4 N.m).
Fill with the recommended oil (see § Specifications), check the level (see § Checking the oil level).
Wipe off any oil residue with a clean cloth and check for any leakage.

7.5. Replacing the fuel filter

Turn off the fuel tap (fig. A - no. 7 & fig. C - no. 1).
Take note of the direction in which the fuel filter is installed (fig. C - no. 3).
Undo the two clips (fig. C - no. 2) and remove the fuel filter. Recover the surplus fuel in a suitable container.
Install a new fuel filter, turning it in the correct direction and ensure that it is firmly retained in position by the two clips.
Turn on the fuel tap.
Wipe off any trace of fuel with a clean cloth and check for any leakage.
Do not smoke, expose to flames or cause sparks. Check to ensure there are no leaks, wipe
off all traces of fuel and ensure that any fumes have been dispersed before starting up the
generating set.
