Installation Instructions
The installation of the servo pump increases the
engine's total width on the port side by 90 mm
(3.54").
Start by first installing the steering cylinder on
the shield, see separate Installation Instructions.
All hoses are connected during installation of the
servo pump, see below.
Installing the servo pump, figure 1
1.
Fit the bracket (2) to the timing gear casing. Use
flange bolt M8x40 (3).
2.
Fit the servo pump (1) to the bracket using the
7/16x102 bolt (4) and lock nut (5). Do not tighten
the nut.
3.
Remove the bolt (A) from the timing gear cas-
ing. Fit the tensioner bracket (6) using the M8x45
flange bolt (7). Connect the tensioner bracket to
the lower hole of the pump bracket using the
M8x20 flange bolt (8) and washer (9).
4.
Fit the V-belt (10) and tension it. The belt tension
should be 5 - 10 mm (0.2-0.4"), see figure 1.
Tighten the nut (5) and bolt (8). See point 14 for
tightening torque.
Installing the oil cooler, figure 2
5.
Cut the cooling water hose at the colour mark-
ings. Pull on the hose clamps (12), one clamp
together with the hose bracket (14) and two on
the opposite side. Fit the angled bracket (13) to
the starter motor's lower fastening bolt. Use ex-
isting nut. Torque tighten according to point 14
below. Pull on the hose bracket (14).

6.
Fit the oil cooler (11). Fasten the hose bracket
to the angled bracket using the M8x40 bolt (15).
Torque tighten according to point 14 below.
Tighten the hose clamps.
Connecting the hoses, figures 2 and 3
7.
Screw the pressure hose (17) firmly into the
servo pump. Connect the other end to the pres-
sure side of the steering cylinder. Refer to the
separate Installation Instructions for the steer-
ing cylinder kit. Route the hose past the oil cooler
and under the engine between the oil sump and
the flywheel housing. Fasten the hose using the
cable ties.
8.
Connect the return hose (B) to the steering cyl-
inder and oil cooler. Cut the hose 2200 mm
(86.5") from the free end. Route the hose the
same way as the pressure hose. Pull on a hose
clamp (16) and connect the hose to the oil cool-
er's inlet according to figures 2 and 3. Tighten
the hose clamp. Fasten the hose to the pressure
hose using cable ties.
9.
Cut the remaining part of the return hose (C) to
a suitable length and pull on two hose clamps
(16). Connect the hose to the oil cooler's outlet
and the suction side of the servo pump. Tighten
the hose clamps. Fasten the hose to the pres-
sure hose using cable ties.
10. Use engine oil. Unscrew the cap from the oil
container and fill oil until the container is full.
Start the engine and run at idle. Fill oil as the
level drops and stop filling once the oil level has
stabilised at the correct level. Check using the
dipstick fitted in the cap.
11. Turn the steering wheel from lock to lock. Turn
repeatedly and with a smooth even movement
so that the pump works with a low pressure. Fill
oil if necessary and stop turning the steering
wheel when the oil in the container is almost
free from air bubbles. Fit the cap on the con-
tainer.
12. Check that there is no oil or water leakage from
the system.
13. Check that the hoses are routed in a suitable
way, i.e. that they do not rest against moving or
hot parts of the engine, and that they are prop-
erly fastened.
Tightening torques
14. Use the following tightening torques:
M8 24 Nm (2.4 kpm/17.7 lbf ft)
M10 48 Nm (4.8 kpm/35 lbf ft)
7/16 UNC 40 Nm (4.0 kpm/29 lbf ft)
