3 - Individual safety
Most accidents occur while the operator is using the
machine or during servicing, which are caused by
inobservance to basic safety instructions. We must
therefore be aware of the potential risks of an action,
by paying particular attention to outs own acts and
their due consequences.
Beware, pay attention to what is going on and use
sense when operating the machine. Do not use the
equipment if you are tired, distracted or under the
influence of substances, alcohol or drugs. A slight
distraction may cause serious injury.
Wear protection equipment at all times. Always
wear goggles. Wearing protection equipment as
gloves, shoes, and ear plugs increases protection and
reduces the risk of an accident.
Wear proper garments. Do not wear loose clothes
or jewelry as it may be accidentally stuck to
equipment moving parts. In case of long hair, fasten
it securely.
Never let the gasoline-powered motor running
indoors or in places with no ventilation. The exhaust
gas contains carbon monoxide, an odorless and
lethal gas.
Avoid accidental functioning. Make sure the power
switch is set to "OFF" before plugging the equipment
to outlet. Connecting the power cord with the power
switch "ON" may cause serious injury.
Remove any objects before turning on the power. A
tool or any other object stuck in the moving parts of
the equipment may result in injury.
Be careful with the gasoline-powered motor
retractable start kickback when starting the engine,
this may cause physical damages to the operator.
4 - Use and Care
Do not overpower the equipment. Use the
equipment properly and for the purposes stated in
this manual only for better performance and safety at
work.
Do not use the equipment if the gasoline-powered
engine's electric switch or the power cut-off switch
does not turn on or off, if necessary proceed with the
repair.
Turn the circuit breaker off, remove the fuses or
disconnect the plug from the power grid or remove
spark plugs cable before conducting any adjustment
or replacing the cutting blade and accessories.
These preventive measures reduce the risk of
accidental operation of the equipment.

Do not allow personnel without any training to
handle the equipment. The equipment may be
dangerous if operated by people who not familiar
with its operation.
Preserve your equipment. Frequently check if the
moving parts are secured, if any component is
damaged, or check for any other condition that
may affect its optimum operation. If issues are
found, fix it before using the equipment. Many
accidents are caused by lack of proper maintenance.
Keep the cutting blade sharp and clean.
The cutting blade keeps moving after the equipment
is switched off. Therefore, be aware when servicing
the equipment.
Never grind stones, glass, metals, plastics, chemicals
packaging (perfumes, cleaning, paints) or any other
materials that may damage the shredder.

situations.
Do not insert any material other than that
recommended into the shredder. If you need to chop
or shred another material that is not recommended,
you can contact the factory.
Note:
The installation of a residual-current
circuit breaker (RCD) is compulsory to protect
electrical system against serious shocks as per
Brazilian NBR 5410 standards (consult an
electrician).
5 - Servicing
Equipment repair should be performed by
trained personnel and using original parts
only. Always call TRAPP Authorized Service
Technicians. TRAPP is not responsible for any
accidents caused by the use of spare parts which
are not authorized by TRAPP.
