scraPIng
Scraper blades are ideal for removing
carpet or vinyl glued to floors/stairs,
paints, varnishes, and caulking. When
using a scraper blade set the tool to a
low or medium setting to have the most
control over the tool. When removing
strong, sticky glues grease the scraper
blade with petroleum jelly to prevent the
blade from getting gummed up with glue.
When scraping on delicate surfaces like
a bath tub or tile, be sure to use a scrap
piece of material underneath the blade
or even tape off the work surface. Be
careful not too use to much force as this
can cause damage to your work surface.
grout removal
Grout removal blades are ideal for
removing grout and damaged tiles. To
remove grout, make several passes
along the grout line. Be sure not to apply
too much pressure and keep the blade
inside the grout line to avoid damaging
titles. You can use the segmented side
of the blade to remove grout in corners.
When removing unsanded grout the grit
can gum up the blade. Simply use a wire
brush to clean the grit.
grIndIng
Carbide rasp is ideal for removing thin
set, plaster, cement and wood as well.
When prepping surface to replace title be
sure to let the tool do the work and use
small continuous circle motions. You can
use the edge or the corner of the rasp
to get into corners and hard to reach
places.
