Operation
7.1
Switch-on/switch-off
The EPS 118 is turned on and off with the on/off
switch (Fig. 2, item 1).
i
Prior to switching on again, the EPS 118 must have
been switched off for at least 60 s.
i
EPS 118 do not switch off the while injector testing
is in progress (except in the case of emergency
stop). Before unplugging the power supply cable,
first turn off the EPS 118 by switching off the on/
off switch (Fig. 2, item 1).
7.2
Connecting a USB printer
i
Only printers and USB connecting cables approved
by Bosch may be connected to the EPS 118.
i
Because there is only one connection provision for
USB devices on the EPS 118, simultaneous use of
the WLAN USB adapter and a USB printer is not
possible.
1. Switch off the EPS 118 using the on/off switch
(Fig. 2, item 1).
2. Using a USB connecting cable, connect the USB
printer to the USB port (Fig. 2, item 6). When using
the WLAN USB adapters, unplug the WLAN USB
adapter first.
3. Switch on the EPS 118 using the on/off switch
(Fig. 2, item 1).

Emergency stop switch

Only use the Emergency Stop switch (Fig. 1, item 2) in
case of emergency.
Activating the Emergency Stop switch will immedi-
ately stop the injector test and the operation of the
EPS 118. Once the emergency switch is switched on
again, the EPS 118 software will automatically reboot
and reconnect to the EPS 118.

Preparation for testing
1. Check the amount of test oil on the oil level indica-
tor prior to every test (Fig. 1, item 4).
!
The test oil level must always be above the mark
of the oil level indicator (Fig. 1, item 4) but also
within the sight glass. If the test oil level cannot
be seen in the within the sight glass, too much test
oil has been filled, which will distort the measured
values.
!
If the amount of test oil in the test oil tank drops
below 2°l, the EPS 118 will stop the test and a
message is displayed. This prevents damages to the
EPS 118.
2. To avoid contamination of the test oil, each
CRI/CRIN and piezo CRI injector must be cleaned
before testing (see sec. 7.7). Never fit damaged,
contaminated and/or severely corroded CRI/CRIN
and CRI Piezo for testing.
