8. Refill the water bottle with fresh water.
9. Reassemble the moistening system.
Marconi Data Systems recommends that you use a light grease, such as Dow Corning
1292 Long Life Bearing Grease, on the pressure roller ball bearing, the feed wheel shaft
bearings, the spring slide, and the cutter actuating pin every six months. See the
information below to clean each part.
The pressure roller is the wheel which controls the amount of pressure on the tape as it
passes through the tape channel (see Figure I). The tape passes under this wheel. Follow
the procedures below to clean the pressure roller ball bearing.
1. Lift the cover weight to expose the tape channel and the pressure roller.
2. Apply a small amount of grease to the center bearing, located on the left side of the
wheel.
3. Replace the cover weight.
