Selecting the correct water level setting depends upon the weight of the tape, the speed
of the operation and the environment. When using a heavy tape such as a 90 lb or
reinforced tape, select a high water level. If you are working in a dry environment,
Marconi Data Systems also recommends using a high water level.
If you are using a lighter tape, such as a 35 lb tape, or if you are using slow operation, a
low water level is recommended. For a 60 lb, or moderate weight tape, use a mid-level
water selection.
The water hose is attached to the machine by hanging the water regulator on a screw on
the left side of the machine. The water level in the brush tank is adjusted by moving this
screw up or down in its bushing (see Figure A on page 5).
To raise the water level in the brush tank:
1. Loosen the adjusting screw and slide it up in its slot.
2. Tighten the screw when you have repositioned the regulator in the correct spot.
