7. Converting to Play Mode
You will need to convert the tricycle before
changing from solely push mode to play
mode. You will need to remove all parts that
could cause injury or inhibit play.
By making a few adjustments after the conver-
sion you will be able to easily change between
push mode and play mode. The seat padding,
backrest and seat belt will then remain
detached and no longer used.
Removing Seat Belt
You will require a screwdriver for recessed
cross head screws (not included) to remove
the seat belt.
z Fasten the seat belt.
z Undo the screws at the lower three ends of
the belts from the seat and detach the belt
sections from the seat (Fig. 32, A and B)
Detaching Seat Padding
z Release the fastener at the back and fold
the backrest forward (Fig. 33, A).
z Remove the padding by pulling it over the
upper end of the backrest (Fig. 33, B).
User Manual
z Pass the two belt sections back through the
backrest so that you can access the clips.
z Remove the clips from the loops and pull
the belt sections forward completely out of
the backrest and padding (Fig. 16, A).
z Fold the backrest upright, use an Allan key
to undo the two screws in the seat and
detach the seat moulding from the seat
(Fig. 34, A).
z Carefully detach the padding from the seat
moulding.
z Place the seat moulding back on to the seat
so that the screws in the seat moulding pass
through the holes in the seat.
z Firmly hold the seat moulding and seat in
the correct position with one hand and,
using the Allan key, screw the first screw
into the nut in the seat mount. Exert a little
pressure on the screw in order to feel the
screw engaging in the thread (Fig. 35, A).
z Now fit the second screw and tighten both
screws (5 to 8 Nm).
Removing Backrest
z Fold the backrest forward.
z Firmly pull the backrest at the joint to one
side to detach it from the seat (Fig. 36, A).
z Release the other side and completely
remove the backrest.
