The operator is the only responsible for injuries caused to other people or for damages caused to their properties.
•
Do not use the tool when you are in unstable position or off balance.
•
It is forbidden to operate the tool on ladders.
•
Never cut branches which are close to electric wires.
•
Before any ordinary maintenance operations, read the use and maintenance manual carefully. For any maintenance
operation which is not indicated in this manual, please contact one of the Campagnola s.r.l. Authorized Service Points.
•
Use the tool just for the aims indicated in ch. "Product description". Any other kind of use may cause injuries.
•
Keep this manual carefully and read it before any tool use.
•
Do not touch the chain or carry out maintenance operations while the engine is on.
•
Keep all the stickers with the safety indications in perfect conditions.
•
Avoid to work in bad weather conditions, such as when it is foggy, heavy rainy or strongly windy.
•
Be careful when cutting free falling branches. They could cause loss of control of the tool.
•
Inhaling atomized oil or wooden dust can cause irritation or intoxication of the operator‟s breathing system. In case of
prolonged problems a specialist has to be contacted.
•
Be always focused on what you are doing and use common sense when operating electric tools .
•
Avoid any accidental tool operating. When holding or carrying the chain pruner, first check that the switch is in OFF
position, before connecting the tool to the battery.
•
Remove any adjustment key before switching the electric tool on.
2.2 Use
•
When the led light (10) is on, it means that the tool is powered.
•
Never use the tool, if the ON/OFF switch (4) is faulty.
•
Never leave the tool under the rain. Keep it in a dry place.
•
Use the tool, its accessories, etc. according to these instructions and focusing on the working conditions and on the
operations to be carried out.
•
Never carry the tool by its power supply cable (11) (picture P).
•
When the tool is not used for pruning, put the ON/OFF switch (4) in OFF position, in order to avoid any useless battery
consumption.
•
The flashing led light (10) shows that the tool is locked due to motor overheating or to maximum power level exceeding. To
start the tool again, switch it off and on by means of the ON/OFF switch (4).
•
Always hold the tool with both hands on the handles and make sure you are in a steady and safe work position.
•
Use the tool just for the aims indicated in ch. "Product description". Any other kind of use may cause injuries.
•
Always check that the safety devices are perfectly efficient.
•
Carry the tool keeping the bar (14) headed backwards, the chain guard (3) inserted and the power supply cable (11)
disconnected from the connector (7).
•
Before starting the tool, make sure the chain (15) is not in contact with anything.
•
Hold the handles (1) and (8) with both hands tight (picture H).
•
When cutting, make the motor run at high speed.
•
Never cut higher than the operator‟s shoulders.
•
With the 8" bar (14), never cut branches with a diameter exceeding 150 mm (picture Q).
•
Follow the chain manufacturer‟s instructions as for the chain (15) sharpening and maintenance.
•
Never use the tool if it is damaged, uncorrectly regulated or only partially assembled.
•
Be very careful when cutting bushes or small shrubs, since soft parts may get entangled in the chain (15) and then may be
thrown against the operator, or they may make him loose his balance.
•
Be very careful with the handles (1) and (8). They must be always perfectly dry, clean and free from oil residues.
•
Check the oil level. It must always reach at least the half of the chain reservoir (22). Lack of oil causes chain (15) seizing.
•
Disconnect the connector (7) from the battery unit before carrying out any adjustment or routine or extraordinary
maintenance operation.
•
Keep the bar (14) and the chain (15) clean and sharpened.
•
Be careful with the kickback effects due to upwards directed reaction movements of the bar (14). They may make the
operator loose his balance or the tool control (picture I).
SAFETY RULES ABOUT THE KICKBACK EFFECT
Kickback may be caused when the bar (14) top touches an object, or when some wood stops or crushes the chain
(15) during the cutting operations. In order to prevent from or reduce the kickback effect, hold the tool with both
hands tight.
