instructions. Failure to follow the warnings
and instructions may result in electric shock,
fi re and/or serious injury.

Machine-related safety instructions
- Wait for the cutter to stop before setting the
tool down. An exposed rotating cutter may en-
gage the surface leading to possible loss of con-
trol and serious injury.
- Hold the power tool by insulated gripping sur-
faces only, because the cutter may contact its
own cord. Cutting a „live" wire may make ex-
posed metal parts of the power tool „live" and
could give the operator an electric shock.
- Use clamps or another practical way to secure
and support the workpiece to a stable plat-
form. Holding the work by your hand or against
the body leaves it unstable and may lead to loss
of control.
- Wear suitable personal protection equipment:
Ear protection to reduce the risk of damaging
your hearing; Protective goggles; Face mask to
reduce the risk of inhaling harmful dust; Pro-
tective gloves when handling tools and coarse
materials.
- Only insert plug in the mains socket when the
electric tool is switched off by the mains switch.
Always keep the power supply cord back away
from the electric tool while working and allow
the cord to move freely in the whole working
area to make trouble-free work possible.
- The electric tool may only be started after plac-
ing it on the workpiece in initial position.
- Keep hands away from the chip discharge chan-
nel. If the channel is blocked, fi rst the electric
tool must be switched off and allowed to come
to a complete standstill. After that, the chips
may be removed.
- This electric tool is not intended for stationary
use.
- The dust originating from planing wood is haz-
ardous to health. Connect the dust extraction
adapter and wear a dust mask when working
with the electric planer.
- Turn or exchange blunt knives in good time, the
risk of kickback is otherwise increased.
- Damaged power supply cords must be replaced
immediately by a specialist.
- Unauthorized use of this product anyway may
lead to a personal injury.
- Repairs shall be carried out by the qualifi ed
personnel only.
- Use only the original spare parts.
- Use only the original cutting heads identical to
the one supplied with the electric tool.
- Only for AS/NZS: The tool shall always be sup-
plied via residual current device with a rated
residual current of 30 mA or less.
5.3

Remaining risks

Even when the electric tool is used properly and
all the relevant safety measures are followed, the
following remaining risks can still occur due to the
design of the electric tool required for the intended
working operations:
- Contact with the cutting blades during rundown;
- Clothing can be caught by the rotating parts;
- Hazards invited by the fl exible supply cord;
- Hazards invited by the harmful dust when using
the planer for a long time without a dust extrac-
tor.
