6.3 Master / slave mode

Several units LED-345RGBW may be operated in
sync. Then the first unit (master unit) controls the
remaining units (slave units). Connect the units with
each other in a chain. For this purpose see chap-
ter 7.1, however, without paying attention to step 1.
Adjust the master unit (the first unit of the chain
whose control input is not connected) to automatic
mode or music control (
the slave units to the slave operation as follows:
1) Press the button MENU so many times until the
main menu is reached.
2) Select the option
button UP or DOWN.
3) Press the button ENTER: The slave operation is
activated, the display shows
the slave unit receives control signals from the
master unit, a point flashes on the display.

7 DMX Control

DMX is short for Digital Multiplex and allows the
digital control of several DMX units via a common
control line.
The operation via a DMX controller (e. g. DMX-
1440 or DMX-510USB from "img Stage Line") can
either be made via 32 or 3 DMX channels:
In the 32-channel mode it is possible to control
each LED individually and thus to create individual
light patterns.
In the 3-channel mode 29 effect programmes
can be called. A music-controlled light show is pos-
sible as well.
The functions and the corresponding DMX values
can be found in chapter 7.4 or 7.5.
7.1 Connection
As a DMX interface the unit is equipped with 3-pole
XLR connections with the following pin configura-
tion:
pin 1 = ground, 2 = DMX-, 3 = DMX+
For connection, special cables for high data flow
should be used. Standard microphone cables with
screening and a minimum cross section of 2 ×
0.22 mm
2
and with a capacity as low as possible
can only be recommended for a total cable length
of up to 100 m. For cable lengths exceeding 150 m
it is recommended to insert a DMX level matching
amplifier (e. g. SR-103DMX from "img Stage Line").
1) Connect the control input DMX IN (10) to the
DMX output of the light controller.
chapter 6.1 or 6.2). Adjust

2) Connect the control output DMX OUT (11) to the
control input DMX IN of the next light effect unit.
Connect its output again to the input of the fol-
lowing unit, etc. until all DMX-controlled units are
connected in a chain.
3) To prevent interferences in signal transmission,
for long cables or for a great number of units
connected in series, terminate the control output
of the last DMX unit of the chain with a 120 Ω
resistor (> 0.3 W): Connect a corresponding ter-
minating plug (e. g. DLT-123 from "img Stage
Line") to the output jack.

7.2 Adjusting the number of DMX channels

1) Press the button MENU so many times until the
main menu is reached.

7.3 Adjusting the start address

For operating the light effect unit with a light con-
troller, adjust a DMX start address for its first DMX
channel. The following DMX channels are then
automatically assigned to the following addresses.
Example: For start address 5 for channel 1
– in the 3-channel mode the channels 2 and 3 are
assigned to the addresses 6 and 7; the address 8 is the
next possible free start address for the following DMX-
controlled unit.
– in the 32-channel mode, the channels 2 to 32 are
assigned to the addresses 6 to 36; the address 37 is
the next possible free start address for the following
DMX-controlled unit.
1) Press the button MENU so many times until the
main menu is reached.
2) Select the option
button UP or DOWN.
3) Press the button ENTER: The present address

After adjusting the start address, the light effect unit
can be operated via the DMX controller. The recep-
