Installation instructions:

1.) Release rear bumper and remove bumper brackets.
The bumper brackets are not required. Cut out plastic bumper according to inner marking
(roughened horizontal surface).
2.) Pass towbar of towing bracket '1' through bumper cutout.
Align towing bracket '1' and secure with 4 standard bolts at point 'A'.
3.) Insert towing bracket '1' with assembled bumper in openings of rear end plate so that holes 'C'
(Passat Variant) or holes 'D' (Passat notchback) are aligned with the fixture points on the vehicle,
and secure with M 10 x 38 bolts.
4.) Tighten all bolts and nuts evenly.
Tightening torques:
Bolts and nuts of strength class 8 and 10 are used.
5.) The cutout in the bumper must be sealed with a cover when a trailer is not in use. The cover must
be ordered separately from a V.A.G. dealer, and must be cut out to correspond to the inner marking
in the towbar area.
