2.1 - IDENTIFICATION OF MODELS
XVPF/NC : Quick opening + flow rate adjustment
XVPR/NC : Adjustable slow opening + flow rate adjustment
2.2 - SIL LEVEL
The SIL level of the stand-alone solenoid valve is SIL 2; when two solenoid valves are installed in series and the relative seal
control (Valve Proving System), certified according to EN 1643, the level reached is SIL 3, as indicated in the standard
EN 676:2008. The solenoid valve has a level of PL d. For further data refer to the SIL LEVEL table (table 3).
3.0 - DEVICE COMMISSIONING
3.1 - PRELIMINARY INSTALLATION OPERATIONS
All installation operations must be carried out in the absence of an explosive atmosphere.
• It is necessary to close the gas upstream of the valve before installation;
• Check that the line pressure IS NOT HIGHER than the maximum pressure declared on the product label;
• Any protective caps (if any) must be removed before installation;
• The piping and inside parts of the valve must be free from foreign bodies;
• Check that the inlet and outlet counterflanges are perfectly coaxial and parallel to avoid subjecting the body to unnecessary
mechanical stresses. In addition calculate the space required for gasket insertion;
• For the tightening phases, it is necessary to have one or more calibrated torque wrenches or other controlled locking tools;
• The safety regulations in force in the country of installation must be respected regarding the handling of loads. If the
appliance to be installed exceeds the permitted weight, the use of an adequate mechanical aid and suitable harnesses must
be provided. During the handling phases, it is necessary to take appropriate precautions to avoid damaging/deteriorating
the external surface of the device.
• In accordance with the EN 161 standard, the installation of an adequate filter upstream of a gas shut-off safety device must
be provided;
• In case of outdoor installation, it is advisable to provide a protective roof to prevent rainwater from damaging the electrical
parts of the appliance.
• Before making electrical connections, check that the mains voltage corresponds to the power supply voltage indicated on
the product label;
