Description of the product: The welding face protection with a manually adjusted automatic welding fi lter is a means of protection of
eyes and face of Category II, whose purpose is individual protection of the eyes and face from mechanical dangers and light. The shield
is a protection of an enhanced mechanical resistance. The shield does not protect from drops and liquid splashes, coarse and fi ne dust
particles, gas and short-circuit arc generated by short circuit. The shield is made of polyamide PA66 and it is equipped with a holding band
to be placed around the head, made of polypropylene with cotton lining. The welding fi lter protects the eyesight from the radiation generated
during electric-arc welding and the shading is adjusted within the range between 9 and 13. The fi lter is protected with a polycarbonate shield.
Persons who suff er from allergy to the aforementioned materials may experience an allergic reaction.
Shelf life: There is no specifi c shelf life for the product. Make sure the elements of the shield are not damaged and if necessary replace
them in accordance with the user's manual.

Explanation of the symbols: GX, YATO - manufacturer and importer; YT-73921 - importer's catalogue number; EN 379 - European
Standard for automatic welders' fi lters, EN 175 - European Standard for means of protection of the face and the eyes used during welding;
4/9-13 GX 1/1/1/1 379 – marking of welding fi lters with manual protection grade adjustments: 4 – number of the light state; 9 – number of the
lightest dark state; 13 – number of the dark state; 1 - optical class; 1 - light dispersion class; 1 – class of deviation of the light transmission
factor; 1 - class of relation of the light transmission factor and the angle; GX 1 B CE / GX 1 F CE – marking of the external / internal shield:
1 – optical class, B – protection from particles of a high velocity and medium energy, F – protection from particles of a high velocity and
low energy, GX-600R - welding type fi lter. CE - symbol of compliance with the new EU approach directives WE, „i" – a mark informing that
additional information should be read.
Using the shield: Before using the shield for the fi rst time, remove the protective foil from the protective shield. The foil on the protective
shield limits the transparency and distorts the parameters of the welding fi lter. Worn or damaged elements must be replaced with original
spare parts. Do not modify the guard. It is prohibited to use the guard if any element is damaged and requires replacement.
Adjustment of the holding system of the guard: Put the shield on the head, adjusting both the upper bands if necessary, so that the shield
sits at the appropriate height. Turning the knob at the back of the band girding the head, adjust its length, so that it does not constrict the
head during work, and the shield is not displaced during movements of the head. Use the side knobs to adjust the force required to lower
and lift the shield. Pressing the black blades at the knobs inside the guard, it is possible to adjust the distance between the guard and the
face. Once the blades are released the guard should be locked in one of the available positions. Both sides must be set to the same position.
Inside the guard at the right knob there are adjustment elements, which permit to adjust the maximum lowering or lifting angles. Pull the
black element and move it in relation to the grey element, and then lower the shield and lock it in the desired position.
Operation of the automatic welding fi lter: Use the „WELD/GRIND" switch to select the kind of work. Set the handwheel to „WELD" in
order to proceed to welding and in this mode the fi lter will function in accordance with the settings of the other adjusting elements. In the
„GRIND" position the fi lter will remain in the light state and the automatic shading function will be deactivated. Use the handwheel at the side
of the guard to set the number of the darkened stated within the range between 9 and 13, depending on the welding tasks to be carried out.
Follow the information from the table included in the manual, which indicates the recommended protection grades for electric arc welding.
The switch indicated as „DELAY" permits to modify the delay time for the fi lter, i.e. the time in which the fi lter will react to the changes in
intensity of the light. Adjustments are possible among three grades, where „FAST" means the quickest reaction; „MIDDLE" – medium time
reaction; „SLOW" – slowest reaction. The switch indicated as „SENSITIVITY" permits adjustments of sensitivity, namely the threshold of
activation of the fi lter. It is recommended to set the switch to 30% - 50% of the range in case of most welding tasks. If it is necessary to adjust
the sensitivity of the fi lter, for example in order to adapt to the intensity of illumination at the workplace, proceed as follows. Set the switch to
the „LO" position, direct the guard to the place of work exposing it to the ambient illumination. Turn the handwheel clockwise, until the fi lter
is activated (dimmed). Then turn the handwheel anticlockwise, placing it clearly beyond the position in which the fi lter has come back to the
light state. The sensitivity of the fi lter has been adjusted. If it is required to repeat the adjustment, repeat the aforementioned procedure.
Replacement of the protective shields: In case any scratches, cracks, dulling or any other damage of the protective shields is observed
they must be replaced. In order to replace the external shield, open the locks of the fi lter which are placed at the upper and lower edges of
the fi lter, and then carefully remove the fi lter. Make sure not to break the cables connecting the fi lter to the handwheels. Thrust the shield
inwards the guard and replace it with a new one. Then install the welding fi lter and protect it with the locks. If the internal shield is being
replaced, lift the shield in the middle of the edge at the cut-out in the guard, and then remove it from the holders of the guard. Bend slightly
the new shield, and then place the lateral edges of the shield in the holders of the guard. Attention! It is prohibited to use the guard without
the protective shields.
Replacement of the welding fi lter: Set the dark state handwheel of the fi lter to one of the extreme positions and dismantle it, removing it from
the turning axis. Undo the fi xing nut and remove the potentiometer of the adjustments handwheel. Be careful dismantling the switch. Repeat
the operation at the other side of the mask. Open the locks of the fi lter located at the upper and lower edges of the fi lter and remove the fi lter.
Installation of the fi lter must be realised in a reverse order, paying attention to the proper installation of the handwheels on the potentiometers.
Replacement of the fi lter batteries: The fi lter is supplied from two lithium batteries type CR2450 whose voltage is 3V each. If the „LOW
BATTERY" goes on, the batteries must be replaced with new ones. The batteries are placed in two independent compartments inside the
guard at the base of the handwheels. Press the cover slightly and move it. Replace both the batteries, observing the polarity. Install the
covers. Attention! Batteries must be replaced in pairs. Do not mix old and new batteries.
Testing the fi lter: The fi lter has a function which permits to test its operation. If you press the „TEST" button, the fi lter should darken inde-
