3 SAFETY
3.1 General Safety Rules
• The coffee machine is designed for the household use only. Technical modifications and
any misuse are not allowed owing to resulting risks! The appliance is not intended for
use by persons (children included) with reduced physical, mental or sensory capabili-
ties or lack of experience and/or knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
• Connect the appliance to power supply in accordance with the safety rules in force in the
Country of use.
• The socket, to which the appliance has to be connected to, must be:
- conform to the plug installed on the appliance;
- dimensioned so as to comply with the data plate on the side of the appliance;
- connected to an efficient grounding plant;
- connected to a plant with circuit breaker and magnetothermic switch.
• The power cord must not:
- come in contact with any kind of liquid: shock and/or fire hazard;
- be pressed and/or come in contact with sharp surfaces;
- be used to handle the appliance;
- be used when it is damaged. In case the power cord is damaged, it must be re-
placed by the manufacturer or its customer service;
- be touched with damp or wet hands;
- be coiled up while the appliance is working.
- be tampered with.
• It is forbidden:
- to install the appliance with different procedures than the ones described in Chap-
ter 5;
- to install the appliance in areas where a water jet could be used;
- to use the appliance in the proximity of flammable and/or explosive substances;
- to leave plastic bags, polystyrene, nails, etc. within children's reach as they are
potential danger sources;
- to leave children to play or stay in the proximity of the appliance;
- to use spare parts not recommended by manufacturer;
- to carry out any technical modification to the appliance;
- to dip the appliance into any kind of liquid;
- to clean the appliance by means of water jet;
- to use the appliance in different ways than the ones described in the manual;
- to use the appliance in modified psycho-physical conditions; under the influence
of drugs, alcohol, psycho drugs, etc;
- to install the appliance upon other appliances;
- to use the appliance outside;
- the use of the appliance in explosive or aggressive ambience or with high concen-
tration of powders or oily substances in suspension in the air;
- the use of the appliance in an ambience at fire risk;
- the use of the appliance to dispense substances that are not suitable to its fea-
tures;
- to use the appliance with bare feet and wet hands.
• Before cleaning the appliance be sure that the plug is disconnected from the plug
socket; do not clean the appliance using fuel and/or solvents of any kind.
• Repairing must solely be carried out by a Service Centre authorized by the manufac-
turer and/or by skilled and trained personnel.
• Do not obstruct the grids situated on the side of the appliance.
• Do not place the appliance close to heating equipments (e.g. stoves or heaters).
• In the event of fire use carbon dioxide extinguishers (CO2). Do not use water or pow-
der extinguishers.
3.2 Stop functions
The appliance stop functions are operated by the main switch.

3.3 Identification
Every single appliance is identified by means of the technical data plate and CE marking
situated on the bottom of the appliance itself.
The plate indicates the basic details for installation, handling, use, maintenance and dis-
mantling that are listed below:
- product name;
- product code;
- serial number;
- power nominal voltage (V - Hz - A – W);
- color;
- Customisation.
No plate on the appliance, including the technical data one, must be
removed, covered or damaged, especially the ones that concerns
safety.
