Setting driving energy
Select the energy setting that suits the application. If no empirical values are available, always start with the
minimum driving energy.
1. Turn the adjusting knob to the driving-energy stage:
▶ Stage 1 → Lowest driving-energy stage
▶ Stage 2 → Medium driving-energy stage
▶ Stage 3 → Highest driving-energy stage
In principle, select the driving energy so that the sealing washer achieves a good seal and the
threaded stud achieves the correct driving depth.
2. Drive a test fastener.
3. Check the driven fastener with the test gauge and, if necessary, adjust the driving energy.
Follow the instructions for correct use of the test gauge in the operating instructions of the fastener.
4. Continue driving test fasteners until the sealing washer of the fastener achieves a good seal and the
fastener achieves the correct driving depth.
