SECURING THE SAFE
NOTE:
e safe must be secured to the oor.
Use the hardware provided or consult your
hardware retailer for fastening hardware for your
particular mounting surface.

Failure to do so will compromise the safety and
security of the safe.
To secure your safe to the oor it will rst be
necessary to drill pilot holes through the re
insulation in the oor of the safe. First place the safe
in the desired location. Li the bo om carpeting up
to nd the two hole locations marked on the oor
insulation. Drill holes through the insulation using
the same diameter drill as the diameter of the
mounting hardware you are using.
IMPORTANT:
e fasteners you use must
completely ll the hole you drilled into the
insulation. (Figure 1) You must use the fasteners
a er you drill the holes. Failure to do so will void the
re rating.
Use these holes to fasten the safe to the oor. Drill
the appropriate diameter and depth of pilot holes
into the oor depending on the type of hardware
being used and the type of oor surface. (Figure 2)
Secure the safe with the fasteners and replace the
carpeting.

BACK UP KEY
A "Back Up Key" has been provided in case you have
forgo en or lost your security code. To open the
safe using the back up key follow the steps below:
1. Remove the cover by pressing the tab and turning
the cover as shown in the illustration.
hang by the connecting cable while unlocking the
safe.
2. Insert the key in the key hole and turn clockwise
1/4 turn (until stopped) in order to unlock the safe.
Rotate the handle and open the door.
3. Keep the door open until you have entered a new
security code. Before entering your new code,
remove the key and screw the cover back in place.
4. Enter your new security code following the
instructions for entering your security code.
