2.
Connect the wire from the battery compression spring wire ("_"' end) to the circuit card at pin location J3.
3.
Connect the wire from the battery contact spring ("+" end) to the circuit card at pin location J2.
4.
Connect the keypad ribbon cable to the circuit card at pin location J5.
5.
Install the mechanical lead- screw/guide rail subassembly into the case. The motor mount and rear mount should
easily install onto the two sets of plastic guide pins in the case.
6.
Connect the motor cable to the circuit card at pin location J4.Ribbon cable points away from buzzer.
7.
Make sure the motor cable is out of way; do not close the back cover on the motor cable.
8.
Check all wire connections are proper and secure.
9.
Ensure that the syringe clamp slider is fully grabbing the occlusion slide potentiometer the black moveable slide
piece.
CAUTION: Black slide of occlusion slide potentiometer must be securely engaged with the syringe clamp
slider mechanism for proper occlusion detection.
Replacement of syringe clamp holder
1.
Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the two flat-head 8/32 x 3/8" machine screws that hold the base of the
syringe clamp to the slide mechanism.
2.
Position the new syringe clamp holder on the slide mechanism and install a screw in the hole toward the
top of the unit.
3.
Hold the top of the syringe barrel clamp open to allow access to the second hole. Install the second screw.
Replacement of lead- screw rail assembly
1.
Disconnect the motor cable from the circuit card at location J4,
2.
Remove the lead screw rail assembly from the front case
3.
Remove the motor from the lead-screw rail assembly and put aside. See below replacement of motor.
4.
Lightly lubricate the new lead-screw and rails with petroleum jelly.
CAUTION: Do not use silicone lubricants. Damage to the plastic components may occur.
5.
Check that the gear or the lead screw rotates smoothly with slight force from the hand.
6.
Verify E-clip is in place and/or secure
7.
Install the motor onto the new lead-screw rail assembly. Do not over tighten the screws.
8.
Install the new lead-screw rail assembly with motor onto the front case and connect the motor cable to the
circuit card at location J4. The stripe of the motor cable is facing down.
Replacement of motor
CAUTION: Do not turn the motor gear by hand
1.
Disconnect motor cable from circuit card at location J4.
2.
Remove the lead screw rail assembly from the front case
3.
Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the three pan-head M2 x 6mm machine screws that hold the motor to the
motor mount.
4.
Pull the motor with gear through the hole in the motor mount.
5.
Check that the gear or the lead screw rotates smoothly with slight force from the hand.
6.
If needs lightly lubricate the new lead-screw and rails with petroleum jelly.
CAUTION: Do not use silicone lubricants. Damage to the plastic components may occur.
7.
Insert the new motor with gear through the hole in the motor mount. Orient the motor such that the ribbon
cable is facing away from the black half nuts. The stripe of the motor tail should be in the down direction.
8.
Use a Phillips screwdriver to install the three pan-head M2 x 6nnn machine screws that hold the motor to the
motor mount. Do not over tighten the screws.
9.
Install the new lead-screw rail assembly with motor onto the front case and connect the motor cable to the
circuit card at location J4. The stripe of the motor cable is facing down.
Replacement of pole clamp
1.
Loose the set screw with a hex wrench.
2.
Slide the pole clamp downward off the pole clamp mount.
3.
Slide the new pole clamp upward onto the pole clamp mount.
4.
Tighten the set screw with a hex wrench only to the point that the pole clamp is immovable.
Replacement of pole clamp Mount
1.
Remove the pole clamp from the mount. See above.
2.
Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the two flat-head 6/32 x 1 3/4" machine screws that hold the pole clamp
mount to the case.
3.
Attach the new pole clamp mount.
Replacement of hanger wire
1.
Remove the stainless steel wire hanger from the top of the unit by expanding each side outward.
2.
Install the new stainless steel wire hanger by expanding it and inserting each end into the holes on the top of
the unit.
