Cutting the Fence Opening
1. Inspect the area of your fence intended for the Husqvarna Automower®
Fence Door and make sure it is structurally capable of supporting the
installation.
NOTE: Depending on your fence, you many need to add additional supports
to secure fence slats, support the framework, etc.
2. Locate the template on the outside face of the product carton.
3. Cut out the template on the dashed lines.
4. Place the template against the fence where you intend to install the door.
Installing the frame
Refer to the chapter "PRODUCT OVERVIEW".
Note: It is helpful to have an installer on each side of the fence. This will help
facilitate correct alignment of the frame pieces and hardware installation.
Install the latch pin (E) and lock nut (F) on the frame piece for the hinge side
(A) as shown. Securely tighten the lock nut with a 17 mm wrench.
The customer should determine which side of the door they want displayed to
the outer side of the yard.
Note: frames should be installed so that mounting hinge brackets are on the
inside of the fence.
Note: when installing the frame, make sure that the latch pin (E) is installed on
the correct side, to allow the door to be positioned with the battery access to
the inside of the fenced area, and coordinates with the side of the door having
the locking mechanism.
Assemble the frame pieces on each side of the fence as shown using the long
screws (C) and flange nuts (D). You may need to mark locations on the fence
to drill holes for the long screws. Use a 4 mm hex driver on the long screws
and 10 mm wrench on the flange nuts.
When you install the long screws and flange nuts, make sure they are only
moderately tight. Tighten only enough to ensure that the installation is secure.
Over-tightening will cause the frame to conform to any irregularities in the
flatness of the fence and will cause the door to close slowly, become stuck or
fail to latch. Should the door not operate freely during the initial test, loosen
any excessively tightened flange nuts and re-test.
Use shims or spacers if necessary. Use scrap wood or pieces cut from the
rough opening as shims or spacers to maintain the correct level and to
maintain uniform spacing between the frame pieces.

"GROUND"
Husqvarna Automower® Fence Door
Note: Make sure that the bottom edge of the template (marked "GROUND") is
aligned against the actual ground under the fence.
5. Use the template to mark the opening for the fence.
6. Follow the marks to cut the opening.
7. Install any support features necessary for the fence.
8. Locate the two frame parts (A, B), as well as the related hardware (C, D, E,
F).
9. Continue to "Installing the frame".
442-446 mm
(17.4-17.5 in)
After the framing is completed, use shims or spacers to fill any gaps below the
frame feet. Insert the anchor screws (M) through the frame feet and use the
wrench (L) to twist them into the ground. Check again for level and make any
necessary adjustments.
Installing the door
Refer to the chapter "PRODUCT OVERVIEW".
Install the hinge pivots (H) on the hinges, then attach the completed door
assembly (G) to the frame with short screws (K) and lockwashers (J) as
shown. Use a 4 mm hex driver on the short screws and securely tighten.
Installing the batteries
Use four standard size "D" alkaline batteries (N) as a power supply for the
door latch. Use a T25 screwdriver to remove the screws from the battery
access cover. With the cover removed, insert the batteries in the correct
orientation, then replace the cover and screws.
