Preparing the mower
Separate kits are needed to install bumpers and a transmitter on the mower.
Refer to the installation instructions provided with those kits.
When the door is completely assembled, and the correct bumpers and
transmitter are installed on the mower, resume normal operation of the mower.
• For mowers with corridor width adjustment, the setting should be "5" or less.
• If the charging station is installed within 9 m (30 ft) of the fence that the
fence door is installed in, you may need to set the charging station signal
strength to "MIN" to prevent the mower from being trapped on the opposite
side of the fence.
• The door unlocks automatically when the mower is approximately 1 m (36 in)
from the door.
Husqvarna recommends checking the following items:
Every week
• Trim grass, etc. from around the door frame to ensure proper operation
Every 6 months:
• Verify battery voltage
Automower® Fence Door fails to open
• If the door fails to open, check the battery voltage, or replace with new
batteries. Note that extreme temperatures can impact the charge of the
batteries.
The mower collides with the door
• The mower will only unlock and pass through the door when it is searching
for the charging station or following a guide wire out from the charging
station. When mowing, the mower will occasionally collide with the door
without passing through. This is normal operation.
• Due to the sophisticated programming features of Automower® implemented
to avoid damaging the turf, the mower will not follow the guide wire in exactly
OPERATION
• The door locks automatically when an angle of 30 degrees is reached upon
the mower passing through, or when the door does not sense movement in
20 seconds.
• Observe the mower operation periodically to ensure correct door function.
• Keep the area on each side of the door and frame free from obstructions.
Trim or cut grass and other vegetation so the door fully opens and closes.
Note: verify that the door is functioning properly every 6 months and replace
the batteries if necessary. If the door does not unlock to allow the mower
through, replace the batteries.
MAINTENANCE
Every year
• Verify all frame bolts, screws, etc. are tight
• Verify latch pin and nut are tight
Additional Considerations
• If the mower will not be in operation for an extended period of time
(approximately 30 days or more), Husqvarna recommends removing the
batteries.
TROUBLESHOOTING
the same manner each time. This means that the mower may occasionally
fail to properly pass through the door. If the boundary and guide wires are
properly installed, the mower will self-correct this behavior and eventually
return successfully to the charging station.
The mower does not reach the side of the fence opposite the charging
station
• If you notice that the mower is not reaching the side of the fence opposite
the charging station, you may need to replace the batteries. The batteries
should last the extent of a single mowing season under normal operation,
however this lifetime could be reduced depending on mowing frequency,
mower model, local temperatures and other factors.
