14. Storage
m DANGER!
Risk of fire and explosion!
Storing the product near potential sources of ignition
can result in a fire or an explosion. This leads to se-
vere burns or death.
- Eliminate possible sources of ignition, such as fur-
naces, hot water boilers with gas, gas dryers, etc.
NOTE!
Risk of damage!
If the product is not stored properly, the engine can
be damaged.
- Store the product protected against dirt, dust and
moisture.
14.1 Storage during extended breaks in operation
Allow the engine to cool down before parking the de-
vice in an enclosed space.
Store the petrol ride-on lawnmower with the tank
emptied and also store the fuel supply in a lockable
and well-ventilated area.
Never store the device with petrol in the fuel tank in-
side a building in which fuel vapours may come into
contact with naked flames or sparks. If the tank has
to be emptied (e.g. decommissioning before winter
break), the fuel tank should only be emptied outdoors
(e.g. empty the tank by running the combustion en-
gine outdoors).

Store the petrol ride-on lawnmower in a safe condi-
tion.
The ignition key (30) must always be removed from
the ignition lock (10) and stored securely to prevent
unauthorised or improper use by children and other
persons.
Clean the petrol ride-on lawnmower thoroughly be-
fore storing it (e.g. winter break). Dry grass cuttings
and leaves near the silencer can catch fire. Danger
of ignition!
Allow the device to cool down completely before cov-
ering it.
Before storage, carry out all necessary maintenance
work.
When the petrol ride-on lawnmower is taken out of
service for an extended period of time, before starting
work on or near electrical components, disconnect
the battery connection cable (24) from the engine
connection cable (24a). We recommend removing
the battery (16a) and storing it fully charged in a dry
and locked room.
14.1.1 Removing the battery (fig. 9)
1. To do this, disconnect the battery connection ca-
ble (24) and the engine connection cable (24a).
(Fig. 9).
2. Then loosen the two screws (16b) from the battery
cover (16) using a Phillips screwdriver (not includ-
ed in the scope of delivery).
3. Remove the battery (16a) including the battery
cover (16).
Ensure that batteries are secured against unauthor-
ised use (e.g. by children).
Charge the battery (16a) during the winter 1-2
times to ensure that the full charging capacity
is maintained. Incorrect storage can damage the
battery (16a) and is excluded from the guarantee.
14.2 Drain petrol with a petrol extraction pump
1. Hold a collection container under the hose of the
petrol extraction pump (not included in the scope
of delivery).
2. Unscrew and remove the tank cover (17).
3. Push the hose of the petrol suction pump into the
fuel tank and drain the petrol completely using
the petrol suction pump.
4. Re-tighten the tank cover (17).
