QUICKSTART
CARBURETTOR SETTINGS
Your Antix S8 Rebel BX3 comes fully assembled and adjusted. Nevertheless, we recommend that you carry out the following activities on the vehicle before
every start.
The factory settings are a good starting point if you are not satisfied with your carburettor setting.
Turn the needles all the way in (be careful not to overtighten them!) and then loosen them again the turns indicated below.
Idle throttle screw (#1):
Determines the amount of air when the carburettor is closed and serves as a mechanical stop for the throttle slide.
Turn clockwise for higher and counterclockwise for lower idle speed.
The carburettor plug should be open approx. 1.0mm when the throttle servo is in neutral position.
Needle for lower speed range (#2):
Determines fuel flow at low and medium engine speeds. Turn it clockwise for a leaner setting and
counterclockwise for a richer setting.
Factory setting = loosen 3 ½ turns
Needle for upper speed range (#3):
Basically determines the fuel flow (when the carburettor is wide open).
Same direction of rotation as #2.
Factory setting = loosen 2 ¾ turns
BREAK IN THE ENGINE
Proper break-in of your engine is a very important point to ensure that you get maximum performance and life.
Take your time and don't rush it. Do not use a running-in stand, but run the engine in directly in the car.
Run in the same fuel that you intend to use in later operation. A special running-in fuel is not needed.
If your engine does not start easily, you can loosen the glow plug ½ turn to reduce the compression of the engine.
However, do not forget to tighten the glow plug again after the engine is running!
Procedure:
•
Start the engine according to the instructions and set the main jet needle very rich (there must be a lot of smoke coming out of the exhaust!).
•
Let the engine idle for 2 minutes to warm up the engine.
•
If necessary, increase the idle speed slightly via the gas trim so that the engine does not stall.
•
Now slowly empty the tank of your car. The car will be slow and sluggish because of the rich carburettor setting.
•
This is normal and important.
•
Do not let the engine rev too high, only drive at half throttle on the straights.
•
The engine should not be too cold or too hot during the running-in period. 70-90°C is perfect.
•
Let the engine cool down for 15 min. after each tank.
•
We recommend doing this 4 tankfuls before making any further adjustments.

START THE ENGINE
The engine of the Antix S8 Rebel is equipped with a pull starter as standard.
To fill the carburettor with fuel, please close the outlet of the tuned pipe and slowly pull the pull starter twice.
Then fit the glow plug connector, open the carburettor slightly and pull the pull starter several times at short intervals.
GEFAHR
When the engine is running, please remove the plug connector.
WARNUNG
Make sure that the glow plug always has sufficient voltage. If necessary, charge the battery.
VORSICHT
HINWEIS
Never pull the pullstarter cable out further than 30cm!
STOP THE ENGINE
With the help of the Motor Stop Tool supplied, close the outlet of the resonance tube.
