10.5 Thawing
CAUTION
Do not thaw or warm breast milk in a microwave or a pan of boiling water. This helps
preserve important components and prevents burns.
• To preserve breast milk components, thaw the milk overnight in the refrigerator.
• Alternatively, hold the bottle or bag under warm water (max. 98.6 °F/37 °C) and use
immediately, as soon as it has been thawed.
NOTICE
Gently swirl the bottle or bag to mix any fat that has separated. Avoid shaking or stirring
the milk.
10.6 Feeding breast milk
It is recommended that breastfeeding is well established prior to bottle feeding your baby.
• Always inspect the bottle, the teat and other components immediately before and after
each use. If the teat appears cracked or torn, discontinue use immediately.
• To prevent a possible choking hazard, test the strength of the teat by pulling on the end
of the teat.
• Do not attempt to enlarge the teat hole.
• Infants must not be bottle fed without adult supervision.
• Do not use the teat as a pacifier.
