PROBLEM
PROBABLE CAUSE
Insufficient flow
Pipes or valves with too small diameter
rate
that increase pressure losses.
Clogging in the pipes or inside the
impeller.
Impeller deteriorated.
Rasps worn out.
Excessive viscosity of the pumped liquid
(if other than water).
Wrong direction of rotation (three-
phase only).
Excessive suction height.
Excessive length of the suction pipe.
Excessive noise Unbalancing of the rotating part.
Worn bearings.
Pump or pipes not fixed securely.
Excessive flow rate for the diameter of
the pressure pipes.
Cavitation.
Unbalanced power supply.
Mechanical seal
Bonded seal
leakage
Scratched seal
Incorrect seal
Dripping on first start-up or during
filling
POSSIBLE SOLUTION
Use suitable pipes and valves.
Clean the impeller, remember to always use the prefilter.
Replace the impeller contacting an authorised centre.
Replace impeller and diffuser by contacting an authorised
centre.
Pump not suitable for service.
Invert two phases in the terminal box or the control panel.
Close the discharge gate valve partially or reduce the
suction gap between the pump and the tank.
Reduce the distance between the pump and the tank as
much as possible, if necessary use larger diameter suction
pipes.
Check that there are no solid particles inside the impeller.
Replace the bearings.
Secure the pump and pipes to their supports correctly.
Use larger pipes or close the delivery gate valve to reduce
the flow rate.
Close the delivery gate valve and/or use pipes with a
larger internal diameter.
Check that the mains voltage is suitable.
Replace the seal contacting an authorised centre.
Replace the seal contacting an authorised centre.
Replace the seal contacting an authorised centre.
Wait for the seal to run in; if the phenomenon persists,
replace the seal by contacting an authorised centre
