When fastening with sheet-metal screws
The fastening with sheet metal screws may only be made on sheet steels with a
minimum thickness of 1.5 mm. The following is to be considered when making
drill holes in the metal plate.
– Check before whether sufficient free space for the drill outlet is present.
– In order to prevent a running of the drill, prick punch with hammer and prick punch.
– Debur all drill holes and provide with rust protection.
Drill a hole of Ø 4 mm at the points drawn beforehand.
Screw on monitor holder with the metal screws 5 x 20 mm.
Necessary parts for the attachment of the monitor see F 6 to F 8.
When attaching thread screws
The following is to be considered when making drill holes into the
plasticinstrument panel.
– Check before whether sufficient free space for the drill outlet is present.
– In order to prevent a running of the drill, prick punch with hammer and prick punch.
– Debur all drill holes and provide with rust protection.
– Pay attention that the nuts cannot pull themselves through the intrument panel when
tightening (use possibly larger washers or sheet metal plates).
Drill a hole of Ø 5.5 mm at the points drawn beforehand.
Screw on the monitor holder with the thread screws 5 x 20 mm.
Necessary parts for the attachment of the monitor see F 9 to F 11.
Execution of the break-through for the connecting cable of the monitor
For laying the connection cables (see F 12), whenever possible always use
existing cable passageways or other apertures, e.g. the edges of panelling
(pay attention to sharp edges), ventilation grids or blind switches. If no
feed-throughs are available, then a hole must be drilled with Ø 20 mm. Check
before whether sufficient free space for the drill outlet is present.
