Putting the device into operation/ Imple-
mentation
• Carefully read the operating instructions before the com-
missioning!
• Select a suitable location for the device and the loud-
speakers. Ensure an even and non-slip surface.
• Take care to provide sufficient ventilation for the device.
Power supply
• Plug the mains plug into the properly installed wall
socket, 230 V, 50 Hz.
• Ensure that the mains voltage corresponds with the type
plate.
• The device can alternatively also be equipped with 6 C
batteries. For this purpose, slide open the battery
compartment in direction of the arrow and insert the bat-
teries with the correct polarity. Then reclose the battery
compartment.
WARNING:
Do not expose the batteries to any high heat input such
as direct sunlight, for example. There is a risk of explo-
sion!
CAUTION:
• Unequal batteries or new and spent batteries may not
be used together.
• Batteries must not be disposed off in the household
wate. Please dispose of spent batteries at the appropri-
ate collection points or return them to the distributor.
Transport lock CD tray
• Open the CD tray (9) by pressing the OPEN/CLOSE but-
ton (11).
• Remove the transport lock from the CD player, if present,
before commissioning.
• Close the CD tray by pressing the OPEN/CLOSE button
(11).
General operation
On/Off switch (6)
You will turn the device on (I) and off (0) with this button.
NOTE:
• After approx. 15 minutes without a signal, the device
will automatically switch to standby. To use the device
again, press the
button (13).
• Stop operation: When using batteries, set the power
switch to the (0) position, otherwise the batteries will
continue to power the appliance.
Volume MIN/MAX (15)
Use this turning knob to adjust the volume to your individual
needs.
USB connection (1)
This device has been developed according to the latest state
of the technical developments in the USB field. The large
number of different USB storage media of any kind that are
offered nowadays do unfortunately not guarantee that a full
compatibiity with all the USB storage media is ensured. It is
for this reason in rare cases that it can result in problems when
replaying USB storage media. This is not an error function of
the device.
To start the USB replay, proceed as follows:
• Turn the device on.
• Slide the operating mode switch (3) to the "CD" position.
• Connect a USB storage medium with music files. The
appliance switches to USB mode automatically.
NOTE:
If a CD is inserted, the USB port cannot be selected.
• Press the
button (13) to start the replay.
For more operating options plrease refer to the chapter Play-
ing CDs/MP3.
NOTE:
• Always connect USB memory devices directly to the
USB port in order to prevent malfunctions.
• The USB port is not suitable for charging external
devices.
Listening to radio
To restart the radio replay, proceed as follows:
• Turn the device on.
• Slide the operating mode switch (3) to the "Radio" posi-
tion.
• Set the desired station with the buttons Tuning +/-. The
frequency will thereby be shown in the LCD display (16).
