5. Front brake (V-brake):
Thread the previously released brake cable back onto the brake arms [Fig. 5].
Our front brakes are already set at the factory and generally do not require any further adjustments and are
ready for operation immediately. We only ask you to check the front brake for functionality.
Check whether the brake shoes / brake pads (on both sides) are aligned with the rim, if not, loosen the brake
shoe and point the brake shoe towards the rim.
The brake shoe must not touch the tire (bicycle jacket) when the handbrake is operated, but must only touch
the rim when the handbrake is operated. Check that the V-Brake is working properly.
If you are not satisfied with the factory settings and you want to fine-tune the front brake, please read the
following section carefully:
Please note that the front brake is set too tightly when the
Brake lever to overturn the bike and thus cause serious injuries.
If the bike is equipped with a V-brake, the pivot points of the brake arms are special bases that are welded to
the bike fork on the front brake.
For the basic setting, the two brake pads (right and left) are aligned straight, they have to brake the rim when
braking later [Fig. 4]. Now thread the brake cable out of the
Direction of travel right brake hooves. Then the Bowden cable (only silver rope), which is located at the upper
end of the brake cable, can be pulled a little long. Please pull out the Bowden cable only a little (about 6 cm).
Now take the end of the extended Bowden cable (cylindrical) and carefully thread it from below onto the brake
lever (hold the lever pressed backwards)]. Please thread the Bowden cable of the crack along the brake lever.
Now thread the brake cable back onto the right brake hooves in the direction of travel. Now loosen the brake
cable nut on the side.
Then the two brake pads (right and left at the same time) are pressed against the rim (with one hand through
the rim). At the same time, the lower end of the Bowden cable (using pliers) is pulled taut on the brake cable
nut and fixed by tightening the brake cable nut.
The brake can be synchronized with the spring adjusting screw. By turning this screw, the spring tension can
be adjusted to the tension of the other brake arm [Fig. 4].
