See that the access for cooling air
to the room housing the blower and
electrical equipment is sufficieret. If
the air temperature, supplied to the
room, is 20°C, it is necessary with
3
an air change of 750 m
/h (450 cfm)
for cooling of the Multiair blower.
At 25°C: 1000 m
3
/h (600 cfm), at
3
30°C: 1500 m
/h (900 cfm) and at
3
35°C: 3000 m
/h (18000 cfm). The
blower is designed for max. 40°C
cooling air.
The Multiair blower is designed
for outdoor installation. Mount the
electrical equipment for the Multiair
blower indoor. Place the electrical
equipment, where it is not exposed
to vibrations.
Installation of pipe system
The conveyance performance for
a pneumatic conveying system
Start/Stop
Stepless adjustment of the fan
speeds by means of the electrical
equipment is possible. Thus it is
possible to adjust the air perfor-
mance of the Multiair blower to suit
the task concerned.
Adjustment can be made either
manually or automatically through
a pressure transmitter (additional
equipment).
Do not operate with higher fan
speeds than necessary in order
to solve the task concerned, thus
saving energy and avoiding unne-
cessary load of the Multiair blower.
Too high fan speeds, thus convey-
ing speeds, may also result in
damages of the material to be
conveyed.
The electrical equipment
must only be opened by
authorized or trained per-
sonnel.

depends on the design of the pipe
system. Therefore it is important to
follow the layout, which has been
prepared for the pipe system to the
installation concerned. Beware that
the pipe system connections must
be tight, as leakages will reduce the
conveyance performance.
Maintenance
Lubrication
The motor bearings are lubricated
from the factory, but requires perio-
dical lubrification. After each 1.000
hours of operation, both bearings
need to be filled with 20 grams of
grease each. The grease shall be
high quality lithium grease, NLGI
class 2 or 3, with a temperature
range of -40 to +150 °C, e.g. Klü-
bersynth BHP 72-102.
The blower rotor is mounted directly
on the motor shaft, thus there are
no bearings in the blower.
Manual or automatic
operation
Select the desired type of operation
by means of button 6S5, which is
placed inside the control box.
If the system is connected to a
pressure transmitter, press button
6S5 in AUTO for automatic adjust-
ment by means of the regulator in
the Vacon frequency converter.
If no pressure transmitter is con-
nected, press button 6S5 in MAN
for manual operation.
Normally it is only necessary to
choose between manual and auto-
matic operation, when the Multiair
blower is used for the first time.

Manual operation

Start the system by pressing
button 5S2. When the system is
operating, button 5S2 lights on.
Stop the system by pressing
button 5S1.
Cleaning
Always ensure unimpeded ac-
cess for cooling air to and from the
motor of the Multiair blower. Clean
the grating at the inlet opening for
cooling air to the motor for possible
impurities.
Ensure unimpeded access for
cooling air through the openings,
which are placed at the bottom side
of the Multiair blower.
Dismount the grey side plates on
the Multiair blower (mounted with 2
screws on top) regularly and check
the internal surfaces of the blower
for dust and other impurities. If the
dust layer is more than 0.5 mm
(0.02 in) thick, it must be removed.
It will depend on the dust content in
the blower surroundings, how often
it is necessary to check/clean the
Multiair blower.
Also clean the grating at the inlet
opening to the blower inlet for pos-
sible impurities.
Increase the air flow (fan
speeds) by pressing button 5S3.
Reduce the air flow (fan speeds)
by pressing button 5S4.
The actual performance is read in
% on the display T2. The set point
is maintained upon the next start.
