This operating instruction applies to
Kongskilde Multiair blowers model
3000.
Application
Kongskilde Multiair blowers are
designed for use in connection with
pneumatic conveying plants, but
are also suitable for many other air
technical tasks.
No materials must be allowed to
pass through the fan.
The Multiair blowers are not in-
tended for corrosive, adhesive or
dust-laden gases, and the air tem-
perature must not exceed 70ºC at
the blower suction.
Safety symbol
A safety symbol is used in this
manual to draw attention to vital in-
structions concerning the personal
safety of the user or other persons
in the vicinity of the machinery.
Look for this symbol to find such
safety instructions.
Safety
See that all protection caps are
intact and properly secured during
operation.
Stepless adjustment of the fan
speeds by means of the electrical
equipment is possible. In order not
to overload blower and motor, do
not set the fan speed higher than
the Multiair blower is designed for.
Change of the electrical equipment
in order to increase the max. fan
speeds of the blower is not allowed.

Always stop the blower prior to
repair and maintenance and avoid
unintentional start of the blower.
All electrical installations must be
effected according to the current
legislation.
Never put your hand into the inlet or
outlet opening of the blower during
operation.
If the blower is to be moved, use a
fork-lift or the like grabbing under
the base frame of the Multiair
blower. The forks must be long
enough to lift in both sides of the
Multiair blower.
Secure that the Multiair blower is
protected against falling down upon
installation.
In case of abnormal vibrations or
noise, stop the Multiair blower
immediately, and call in expert as-
sistance.
Wiring
Check that the local mains sup-
ply meets the electrical equipment
specifications of the Multiair blower
(control box and frequency conver-
ter).
The control box for the Multiair blo-
wer is available with connection of
a cutter and a separator, which are
included in the conveying system.
Check that the motor protection for
the cutter and the separator is adju-
sted to the actual motor sizes.
As additional equipment a remote
control unit for the Multiair blower is
available, which shall be connected
in the blower control box. The
remote control can be placed max.
300 meters (1000 ft) from the blo-
wer, and has the same adjustment
possibilities as the control box. Two
remote control units can be con-
nected to the control box.
All electrical installations must be
effected according to the current
legislation. See also the separate
instructions for the electrical equip-
ment of the Multiair blower, which
are placed in the control box.
Beware that the circulation direction
of the Multiair blower is correct.
Rotation direction of the blower
rotor should be counter-clockwise
viewed from the motor side. The
blower rotor is directly operated,
thus having the same circulation
direction as the motor. Check the
circulation direction of the motor,
when the grey plastic cover above
the inlet opening for cooling air to
the motor is dismounted.
Installation of the
Multiair blower
If the blower is to be moved, use a
fork-lift or the like grabbing under
the base frame of the blower. The
forks must be long enough to lift in
both sides of the Multiair blower.
The Multiair blower is supplied from
the factory ready for use and only
requires connection to the mains
supply and pipelines on the blower
outlet.
See that there is sufficient access
for fresh air to the room, from which
the Multiair blower takes the suc-
tion air.
Allow during installation for easy
access for repair and maintenance.
Mount the Multiair blower on a solid
and plane base.
Adjust the mounting flanges under
the Multiair blower to provide uni-
form support. It is not necessary
to fasten the Multiair blower to the
base.
Secure that the Multiair blower is
protected against falling down upon
installation.
