Getting started

6.1 Installation

Carefully take the Neptune Instrument out of the double transport box and place it on a stable
and ventilated horizontal surface.
Pay particular attention to keep a 5 cm clearance around the Neptune instrument. It is also
important to ensure an easy access to the electric connection in order to be able to easily
disconnect the power supply if necessary.
Please also take care that the electromagnetic environment is compatible with the use of the
Neptune instrument.

6.2 Starting

In order to protect the components during transport, the Neptune instrument has been put
into a secured position (see chapter 10.2). The axes therefore are voluntarily lowered.
1. Open the cover and remove any protective elements that might be present (ex: bubble
paper and adhesive tape).
2. Now connect the electric cord to the power supply box and connect the round ended
plug at the back of the du Neptune Instrument. To enhance security, a label
symbolizing the Neptune Instrument has been fixed on the cable of the round ended
plug.
3. Connect the machine to the electrical power supply and switch it on (switch on the right
hand side of the machine).
Plug the instrument only into outlets provided with ground fault circuit interruption.
