4.1 Power Supply

The Neptune instrument is powered by an external block which can function between 100VAC
and 240VAC, in 50 or 60 hertz. The entry is located at the lower right part at the back of the
machine.

4.2 Touch Screen

The Neptune instrument is equipped with a touchscreen. Simply press on the icons
representing the functions to activate them.

4.3 Barcode reader (X axis)

An integrated barcode reader detects the correspondences between the reagent cartridges and
the DIASpot Neptune / DIASpot Multi
positions it opposite to the barcodes.

4.4 Axis of Back-and-Forth movement of the strips (Y axis)

The motor commands the movement of the clamp to positions above each well of the
cartridge.

Axis of Up-and-Down movement of the strips (Z axis)

The motor commands the immersion and the agitation of the strips in the different wells of the
cartridge.

4.6 LED Display

A bar of 24 blue LED diodes (placed opposite the 24 positions of the cartridges) indicates
through flickering or permanent lighting the results of the barcode reading and the
correspondences between cartridges and strips.

4.7 USB Connector

A USB connector placed at the front of the machine (bottom right) allows safeguarding the test
data on a USB stick (FAT format). The USB stick has to be on "FAT" format. USB stick on "FAT
32" or any other format cannot be used. The detail of these data is treated in chapter 8.
