Oil Quantity Control

Varying cutting lengths, types of wood
and work techniques require varying

The oil flow can be adjusted as needed
using the adjusting screw (1) (on the

Ematic position (E), medium oil flow –
Turn adjusting screw to "E" (Ematic
N
position)
To increase oil flow –
Turn the adjusting screw clockwise

MS 661 C-M
Setting for increased oil delivery rate
If necessary, the oil flow can be
increased beyond the standard setting.
Press in end stop (2) using a
N
suitable tool – end stop is no longer
functional: the oil flow can be
increased further
If the end stop has been pressed in, it
remains in this position.
To increase oil flow –
turn the adjusting screw clockwise
N
To reduce oil flow –

In adjustment range a, the oil tank may
run dry before the fuel tank, thus
resulting in the saw chain running dry.
In adjustment range a, monitor the
N
chain oil level between refuelings
and add oil if necessary. Always
refill the chain oil tank every time
you refuel.
NOTICE
If an increased oil flow is no longer
required, reset the adjusting screw to the
standard setting.

Taking Care of the Guide Bar

2
1
Turn the guide bar over – every time
N
you sharpen the chain and every
time you replace the chain – this
helps avoid one-sided wear,
especially at the nose and
underside of the bar.
Regularly clean the oil inlet hole (1),
N
the oilway (2) and the bar groove
(3).
Measure the groove depth – with the
N
scale on the filing gauge (special
accessory) – in the area used most
for cutting.
