OPERATION
Water heater shutdown
Hook the cover into the water heater rear cover at the top
rear. Pivot the cover downwards. Check that the cover is se-
curely seated at both top and bottom.
Secure the cover with the screw.
Remove the protective film from the front panel.
Switch on the power supply.
10.3.2 Water heater handover
Explain the water heater function to users and familiarize
them with how it works.
Make the user aware of potential dangers, especially the risk
of scalding.
Hand over the instructions.
10.4 Operation with preheated water
You can limit the maximum inlet temperature by installing a cen-
tral thermostatic valve.
Use a thermostatic valve for central premixing, for example when
operating an instantaneous water heater with preheated water.
For use in shower operation, the valve must be set to a maximum
of 131 °F (55 °C).

To ensure that the Direct Coil
aged following an interruption to the water supply, the
water heater must be restarted by taking the following
steps:
Shut off power to the unit at the breaker panel by
making sure that connected circuit breakers are
"OFF" to avoid any danger of electric shock.
Open and close the tap at least five times for three
minutes total, until the water heater and its up-
stream cold water inlet line are free of air.
Switch the power back ON at the breaker panel.
11. Water heater shutdown
Shut off power to the unit at the breaker panel by making
sure that connected circuit breakers are "OFF" to avoid any
danger of electric shock.
Drain the water heater (see section 15.1, "Draining the water
heater", pg. 16).

12. Alternative installation methods
WARNING Electrocution
Before performing any work on the appliance, discon-
nect all poles from the power supply.
12.1 Concealed installation, electrical connection
from below
1 Cable grommet
Break out the required aperture in the rear cover for the
power cable (for positions, see chapter 16.1, "Dimensions
and connections", pg. 17). De-burr any sharp edges with a
file.
Cut a hole in the cable grommet to fit the selected connecting
cable. Fit the cable grommet.
Install the water heater and connect the power cable to the
wiring block as described in section 9.1, "Standard non-con-
cealed installation", pg. 9.
Seal the factory-fitted cable grommet with the plug included
in the standard delivery.
12.2 Electrical connection with short power cable
If the power cable is not quite long enough, you can install the
wiring block closer to the aperture in the water heater.
1 Cable grommet
Reposition the wiring block from the top to the bottom. To do
so, unclip the wiring block by pushing it firmly to the left and
pulling it forwards. Clip the wiring block in at the bottom by
pushing it inwards and to the left until it clicks into place.
