From Model Year 2020, all Orbea ebikes equipped with a MAHLE Ebikemotion®
X35 system do have ANT+ connectivity from the factory, which allows for the
visualization of the X35 system data on compatible head units, such as the OC
ANT+ LEV display, amongst other units in the market.
The X35 system uses the ANT+ protocol to communicate to compatible head
units real-time data of the system. The ANT+ communication occurs from the
internal battery to the head unit, it is not possible to control the system using
ANT+ accesories. The protocol by which certain accesories can change parame-
ters of the system, such us the Mahle Ebikemotion mobile apps or a heart rate
monitor, must be Bluetooth 4.0 or later versions.
COMPATIBLE HEAD UNITS
The X35 uses de ANT+ LEV communication protocol.
The head unit to be connected to the X35 system for the display of the system
data must be compatible with this data transmission protocol. Not all ANT+
units on the market are necessarily compatible with the LEV protocol.
Through the compatible head unit, you can access relevant system data, such as:
· Current speed.
· Internal X35 battery charge level.
· Total system odometry.
· Turn On/Off the lights (MAHLE Pulsar One display).
· Current assist level.
· Change the assist level.
· System errors.

Select the option LEV Display in the Profiles section for a
complete list of the compatible devices.
X35 ERRORS DISPLAY
Through the ANT+ LEV connection, errors on the MAHLE
Ebikemotion® X35 system can be displayed on the com-
patible head units. If the system has recovered from a
previous error, this can also be displayed in the head unit.
· ERRORS IN THE X35 SYSTEM: If there is an error code
in the system, this will be shown in the head unit by
the generic error code E255. All system error codes
(regardless of the specific error code in the system) will
be shown by the code E255 in the head unit. Connect
the X35 system to the MAHLE Ebikemotion® X35 mo-
bile apps (User or Dealer app) to access the system´s
specific error code and the diagnostics/repair method.
The MAHLE Pulsar One display does show the specific
error code when there is an error in the system.
· ERROR RECOVERY VISUALIZATION: If the system has

recovered from an error, this will be shown in the com-

system is switched on and paired with the display. The
E000 code will disappear after a few seconds. The sys-
tem has no errors.
