1 INTRODUCTION
1.1
Functions and use of the Use and Maintenance Manual
Before working on the machine, carefully read and understand this Use & Maintenance Manual in order to safeguard the
operator and to avoid damaging the machine. These instructions describe how to operate the product safely, economically
and in compliance with the current safety regulations. Following these instructions helps avoid dangerous situations, reduces
repair costs and down-time of the product and extends the life-span of the product itself. This manual must be intact and
legible in its entirety. Every operator involved in using the product or in charge of maintenance must know the location and
be able to read it whenever needed.
1.2
Symbols and qualification of operators
All human-machine operations herein described must be performed by personnel defined in compliance with the manufacturer's
manual. Each procedure is accompanied by a pictogram which indicates the operator considered most suitable for the tasks to
be performed. The indication to identify the personnel qualifications are given below.
Operator
Personnel who can install, operate, adjust, clean, transport the machine and carry out its routine maintenance.
Mechanical maintenance engineer
Mechanical personnel with specific skills, able to perform installation, extraordinary maintenance and/or repairs indi-
cated in this manual. This person is not qualified to perform electrical/mechanical interventions.
Electrical/electronic maintenance technician

Symbols and warnings on the manual
Symbol accompanied by the word "CAUTION!", it is a precaution to be taken in order to safeguard the operators
and bystanders in the work area. The indicated measures may prevent serious injury or even death of the
operator or third parties.
This symbol accompanied by the word:
• "IMPORTANT" provides useful tips for the use, care and maintenance of the product. Advice to follow in
order to avoid problems with the product or to operate in compliance with the current safety regulations.
• "NOTE" provides additional information, clarifies or shows procedures and/or instructions in detail.
1.4
Declaration of conformity
Directive 2006/42/EC contains the conditions according to which the machine may be used in the European Un-
ion market.
In order to certify that the machine complies with the provisions of the Directive, the Manufacturer must apply the rela-
tive compliance assessment procedure envisioned by Directive 2006/42/EC before placing it in the market.
Therefore, the manufacturer must place the machine in the market equipped with and accompanied by:

EC Declaration of conformity

Receiving the product
When receiving the product, make sure that:
•
it has not been damaged during transportation;
•
the supply matches the order (see "Product description" - chap. "Technical specifications").
If problems arise please contact the manufacturer's Service Department quoting all details indicated on the rating plate
(refer to "Product Identification" - chap. "Technical specifications").
