After completing the Tool, you can add additional Features and
Dimensions and save everything as a Custom Tool. However, you
can not add another Tool.
2. Custom Tools
You are always measuring into a Tool file, unless you have loaded
a previously saved Tool.
Features, Dimensions and Reports add to the Tool file as they are
completed. Each icon adds to the Features or Dimensions list.
You can work in Measure or Edit mode. If you switch from Edit to
Measure mode, all incomplete items must be completed.
The current Tool name and units appear in the upper section of
the screen.
1. Always add Features first, then create Dimensions from the Features.
Note: If you are tolerancing the location of Features (X,Y,Z), add the
Features that define your Alignment first.
2. While measuring, try to note each feature name of your Tool to prevent
errors when creating Dimensions and an Alignment.
3. The Green button is used to take points on your part and the Red
button ends the feature measurement.
4. The FARO Gage uses a ball probe. To compensate the measurements
for the ball probe radius, points must be digitized off the feature. Look
at each illustration to see the location of the Red Ball.
Note: Some commands require a previously measured Face.
The Esc key cancels the Feature.
