4.2 TRANSMISSION OIL

Oil level check every 3000 km/1872 miles or 6 months
1) Put the scooter on the stand.
2) Warm up the engine until it gets to the normal working tempe-
rature, then turn it off.
3) Unscrew the filler (A - Fig. 22) and drain (B - Fig. 22.1) caps.
4) When the oil sump is completely empty, check the oil quantity
drained in a graduated container (C - Fig. 22.1): if it is lower
than 110 cc, restore the level by adding the needed oil quantity.
5) Close the drain cap and introduce through the filler cap the right
quantity of the oil previously drained.
6) Close the filler cap.
Renew after the first 500 km (312 mi) and every 10,000 km (6,240 mi)
• Carryout the above operations (points 1 - 2 - 3) then drain the oil
for some minutes into an adequate collecting can (be careful
and avoid touching hot surfaces to prevent burns).
• Close the drain cap and fill with 110 cc of new oil (Q8 T 35 80 W
or equivalent), then screw on the filler cap.
Note: periodically verify any leakage near the drain cap area (rear
wheel). If you observe any leakage, immediately refer to a
MALAGUTI Vendor/Dealer.
