ADJUSTING THE FLOW RATE

Ø40mm ceramic cartridges for the 2820 range and Ø35mm for the 2870/2871 ranges:
Flow rate limited to 5 lpm at 3 bar for the 2820 range and for ref.s 2870T1 and 2871T1;
and 9 lpm for ref.s 2870T3 and 2871T3.
Ø40mm ceramic cartridges with pressure-balancing for the 2820 range and Ø35mm
for the 2870/2871 ranges: (see operating principles (Fig. E)).
Flow rate limited to 5 lpm at 3 bar for the 2820 range and for ref.s 2870T1EP and 2871T1EP;
and 9 lpm for ref.s 2870T3EP and 2871T3EP.

TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT

Temperature limiter:
• All BIOCLIP mixers are fitted with the maximum temperature limiter pre-set at the factory.
For the UK and Ireland we recommend installing an appropriate, approved thermostatic mixing valve
(TMV) to provide safe, anti-scald hot water where a high risk of scalding has been identified.
Where thermostatic mixing valves are installed the temperature limiter MUST BE REMOVED from
all point-of-use mixers.
• Recommended maximum temperature settings for UK healthcare applications are: bidets 38°C,
washbasins and showers 41°C. For all other countries please refer to the relevant hot water safety
guidelines.
Adjusting the mixed water limiter:
• To adjust the pre-set maximum temperature, unclip and reposition the index ring located beneath
the control lever. The position of the index ring will limit the water temperature at the mixer outlet.
• To access the cartridge (Fig. C), remove the control lever by removing the cover cap , unscrew
the grub screw  using a 2.5mm Allen key, and unscrew the collar  from the mixer body.
For the 2820 range and the 2870 and 2871 ranges with the previous design:
• To change the hot water (HW) setting (Fig. F-1), unclip the index ring  and turn clockwise to decrease
the temperature, or anti-clockwise to increase it. Replace the index ring and check the temperature
at the mixer outlet to achieve the desired maximum temperature.
• To return to the maximum hot water position (Fig. F-2), align the marker on the index ring 
with the marker on the cartridge .
For the 2870 and 2871 ranges with the new design:
• To change the hot water (HW) setting (Fig. G-1), unclip the index ring using a flat-head screw driver
and turn clockwise to increase the temperature, or anti-clockwise to decrease it. Replace the index
ring and check the temperature at the mixer outlet to achieve the desired maximum temperature.
• To return to the original mixed water temperature (Fig. G-2) align the two markers  on the index ring
opposite the marker  on the cartridge.
• To undertake a thermal shock at the temperature of the hot water in the system, override the temperature
limiter (Fig. C-3) using a ball-point pen or pointed object and turn the control lever to the full hot water
position.
MAINTENANCE
• Check the operation of the pressure-balancing cartridge and the anti-scalding safety at least once
a year, and more frequently if necessary. In case of malfunction, we recommend replacing the cartridge.
• Non-return valves and filters must be checked at least once a year and more often depending on the
water quality. In the event of malfunction, clean or replace worn or damaged parts.
