INSTALLATION
• Supply with cold and hot water, with a maximum temperature difference of 50°C between the hot
and cold water (we recommended 45°C), and balance the pressure (ΔP < 1 bar).
In the UK and Ireland we recommend installing a thermostatic mixing valve to provide anti-scald,
safe hot water temperature control.
• Maximum supply pressure is 10 bar (we recommend 0.5 to 5 bar dynamic pressure).
INSTALLING THE MIXERS
Standard mixers:
• Deck-mounted, single hole washbasin or sink mixers (Fig. A-1):
- Mount the mixer body on the washbasin or sink (drill hole Ø34mm) and tighten the two nuts
on the threaded rods.
- Connect using F3/8" PEX flexibles*.
- Ensure a suitable waterproof seal between the mixer and the work plan appropriate
to the type of installation.
• Wall-mounted mixers for sinks and showers or shower/baths (Fig. B):
Off-set connectors enable adjustable pipe-centres (150mm ±20).
• Mixers with standard connectors:
1) Using FTPE tape or waterproof sealant on the 1/2" threaded connector, tighten the off-set connectors
at right angles to the wall.
2) Mount the conical cover plates and adjust connectors to fit, ensuring that the mixer is horizontal.
Tighten the cover plates onto the offset connectors by hand.
3) Insert the waterproof washers into the valve nuts and tighten the mixer using a spanner.
• Mixers supplied with STOP/PURGE connectors:
see the installation guide supplied with the 2 connectors (ref. 855027.2P).
Pressure-balancing Mixers:
• All pressure-balancing (EP) mixers must be fitted with the filters supplied to protect the non-return
valves from impurities (Fig. A-2 & C-2).
Note: If the cold water supply fails, the pressure-balancing cartridge known as "EP"
reduces the flow of hot water at the outlet.
ANTI-POLLUTION PROTECTION
Compliance with the European standard EN 1717
• Our mixers for showers, shower/baths and retractable shower heads have non-return valves
to prevent dirty water flowing back into the system (for non-return valve location see (Fig. C-1)).
These should not be removed in any circumstance.
• The sink, shower and shower/bath mixers should be installed in accordance with the Water Supply
(Water Fittings) Regulations 1999 and in accordance with local health or other appropriate regulations
(Department of Health, directives, technical memoranda, etc.).
ADJUSTING THE FLOW RATE
Ceramic cartridge Ø40:
• Washbasin/sink mixers: Flow rate limited to 5 lpm at 3 bar.
• Shower mixers: Flow rate limited to 8 lpm at 3 bar.
Ceramic cartridge Ø40 with EP pressure balancing (see operation principles
• Flow rate limited to 5 lpm at 3 bar.
