4.2.1 Activating Bluetooth detection when your Synthetic Ruby
Identifier is already switched on
Bluetooth detection can also be activated anytime your Synthetic
Ruby Identifier is already switched on.
To activate the Bluetooth presence broadcast of your Synthetic
Ruby Identifier when the unit is already turned on and in operation,
click the Power button. The Power button will start to blink in blue
as it searches for other Bluetooth pairing devices. This takes
approximately 20 seconds.
If a Bluetooth device is found and paired, the Power button will be
lit in white and ready for use. If the Synthetic Ruby Identifier failed
to detect any Bluetooth pairing devices, the Power button will stop
blinking and return to be lit in blue.
4.3 Using OMI with your Synthetic Ruby
Identifier
OMI provides a centralized management system for your OMI enabled
Presidium devices and their test results.
The OMI program can be downloaded from
http://omi.presidium.com.sg
When executing a test with OMI you can include more information
about the gem being tested, such as colour, size, and shape. This
information is then stored on your account for later viewing or for
exporting to a spreadsheet and sharing with others.
Additionally, OMI provides information about the device itself, such
as new firmware updates, usage, analytics on test results, additional
features like setting the display speed.
Finally, OMI is a communication channel with us at Presidium.
One main feature is the ability to run a diagnostic test and this test will
record the some of the device's behaviour and provide a report with
which we can better support our users.
