NEVER connect your FXS ports to your PSTN line. This may damage your
interface card as well as the X6004.
FXO Interface Cards - The FXO interface cards connect to the PSTN or a traditional
PBX's FXS port. FXO ports always point in the direction of the telephone company's
services.
ISDN Interface Cards - There are two types of ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network)
interface cards. The 4-port BRI card is for connecting ISDN phones (when the BRI ports
are in NT mode) or basic rate trunk lines (when the BRI ports are in TE mode). The single-
port PRI card is for connecting a primary rate trunk line such as T1 or E1.
2.1 Interface Card Installation
See the User's Guide for supported interface cards.
Make sure the X6004 is turned off when installing or removing interface
cards.
Ground yourself (by properly using an anti-static wrist strap for example)
whenever working with the device's hardware or connections.
1 Use a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the thumbscrews and remove the protective
cover from the slot.
2 Store the cover in a safe place in case you want to use it in the future.
