Trouble
Engine does not crank
Starter cranks but engine will not
start
Engine smokes. Switch unit off
immediately
Excessive vibration. Switch off
unit immediately
Mower will not discharge grass
or leaves uncut strips on lawn
Troubleshooting
Possible cause(s)
Safety interlock system is not
activated
Battery is not installed correctly
Battery is flat or weak
Fuse has blown
Throttle and choke control not in
correct position
No fuel to the carburator
Spark plug defective or dirty
No sparking
Engine oil has been overfilled or
engine is defective.
Damaged pulley or defective
blade
Engine speed low or ground
speed too high.

Corrective Action
Sit on the driver´s seat, fully
depress the brake pedal i.e.
engage the parking brake and
disengage the PTO.
Attach black ground wire onto
neg. terminal (-) and red wire (+)
onto positive terminal
Change battery
Change fuse. If fuse fails again,
look for the cause (mostly short
circuit)
Refer to chapter "starting the
engine"
Gasoline tank empty. Fill.
Check spark plug. Refer to
engine manual.
Have the engine´s magneto
serviced by an authorized
service dealer.
Check oil level. Have engine
checked by an authorized service
dealer.
Have defective parts replaced by
an authorized service dealer
Set the throttle at full throttle or
use lower ground speed.
