Deleting programmed settings / factory
setting
Press and hold down the button on the D 110 device that
you want to reset for approx. 5 seconds until the red LED
starts flashing approx. twice every second. When you
have held the button down for approx. 2-3 seconds, it will
initially start flashing approx. once per second. Continue
to hold down the button until the LED starts flashing twice
as fast. Release the button. The D 110 device confirms
deletion by emitting a short beep and then returns to
standard mode. However, the device does not belong to
a radio group.
Installation
• P lace the smoke detector onto the mounting plate
attached to the ceiling and carefully turn it in a
clockwise direction until it clicks into place (Fig. 5)
• I f the battery has not been inserted, the mounting lock
will prevent the device from locking into place on the
mounting place (Fig. 4.1)
• C heck that each installed D 110 detector is operating
correctly by using the test feature as follows:
• P ress and hold down the button for approx. 1 second
(Fig. 5.1). The D 110 will then trigger a test alarm,
which is automatically silenced after approx. 4 sets of 3
alarm signals. All other D 110 devices within the same
radio group will also be triggered.
Warning!
• D o NOT hold down the button for too long (more
than 2 seconds), or else the D 110 will revert to
the factory settings!

If the nature of the surrounding area means that a D 110
device is located outside the radio transmission range
of the other D 110 detectors in the same radio group,
you may be able to rectify this by installing an additional
D 110 device. The device's in-built repeater will help
strengthen the radio signal to ensure that an alarm is
automatically relayed from one detector to another within
the radio group.
In order for the device to be installed in line with VdS
standards, ensure that it takes no longer than 30 seconds
for the alarm to be transmitted from the triggered detector
to any other detector. To achieve this, try wherever
possible to position the detectors in such a way to ensure
that the alarm signal is transmitted directly and not
relayed via several detectors.
N.B.
• Mount the detector in the centre of the ceiling
• D o not install smoke detectors in bathrooms
(high ambient humidity), garages (exhaust
fumes), draughty environments (including, for
example, ventilation outlets / inlets) or in lofts
(Fig. 2)
• T he detector can be mounted in the centre of the
ceiling if the roof slopes at an angle of less than
20°.
• P lease ensure that there is a distance of at least
50 cm between the device and walls, ceiling
joists (beams), objects and lights
• R ooms larger than 60 m² and corridors longer
than 15 m require several detectors
• P lease do not exceed a maximum installation
