Product description

The device can be used in two different operating modes,
depending on how the detector has been programmed:
1. Stand-alone mode
In the event of fire, an alarm is only triggered by the D 110
detector that detects smoke. All other D 110 devices will
remain in standard mode
2. Radio smoke detector in line with the VdS 3515
Guideline
In the event of fire, an alarm is triggered by all D 110
detectors that are interconnected by radio.
Both alarm signals and fault signals are relayed. For
instance, this means that if there is a device with a flat
battery in a rarely used room, the signal can also be
detected in other rooms.
You can assign a maximum of 30 D 110 devices to a
single radio group. The alarm is relayed from one detector
to another within this radio group, which means that it
can cover even extensive areas, for instance from the
cellar via the ground floor to the top floor of a building.
You can program up to 8 independent radio groups, for
instance to prevent them from interfering with each other
in apartment buildings.
If the D 110 device that initially triggered the alarm stops
generating a signal, or if the D 110 detector is muted by
briefly pressing the button on the device, all other D 110
detectors will also automatically cancel the alarm after a
maximum period of approx. 30 seconds.

Installation position

To ensure maximum protection
smoke detectors should be installed in all rooms,
corridors, basements and store rooms. Ensure basic

bedrooms, playrooms and in the corridors on all floors
(Figs. 1 and 2).
Installing the device in lofts and in areas that are prone to
dust or draughts may prevent it from operating correctly,
as the smoke chamber quickly becomes soiled. For
this reason, the device should not be installed in these
locations.
The D 110 detector is also approved for installation in
recreational vehicles fit for habitation, as specified in
Appendix L of the DIN EN 14604 standard.
Installation/Commissioning
Be sure to observe the current national guidelines on
installation and application standards for smoke detectors
(e.g. DIN 14676 in Germany).
• C hoose suitable areas on the ceiling in the centre of the
room to mount the detector, as per Figs. 6 and 7.
• P lease observe the installation instructions provided in
Fig. 7. Ensure that there are no objects or obstacles
located within a 50 cm radius of the installed smoke
detector.
• S tart by attaching the mounting plate to the ceiling as
shown in Fig. 3. There is a marking on the mounting
plate to make it easier to evenly align several D 110
devices, for instance in longer corridors.
• I nsert the battery and connect it the right way round as
shown in Fig. 4. If this has been connected correctly,
the red LED will flash approx. every 30 seconds (see
Fig. 5.1). The D 110 is now in standard mode.
